I disagree.  Most of the VP candidates deserved a yawn.  One or two would have earned a chuckle.  This one makes no sense.

BTW, according to Rasmussen, women hate her.

Oh, and if you didn't think she was waaaaaay out there on the right, she is for teaching creation in schools and doesn't believe global warming is man made.  Its farging Huckabee in a dress.

DUDE..Stop the hate.  She stands up against her own party corruption machine.  Congress has a 10% approval rating (lower than the chimps!).  She is the real deal (she should head the ticket IMO).  I would like it if she was pro-choice but don't worry, she wont stop you from getting your abortion..I don't like bible thumpers(they rape their children).  She is  :yay :yay :yay :yay :yay :yay :yay :yay :yay

If you feel comfortable knowing she is one step from being CiC of this country, I feel sorry for you.

How can you determine how qualified she is for either job based on your reading of her wikipedia bio and cnn info over the last 36 hours?

There are people...a lot of them (i am not one, btw) who feel the same way about Obama being completely under-qualified to be president for many of the same reasons you give against Palin as VP. What makes your assessment of Palin any more or less valid than opponents assesment of Obama?

Under-qualified?

Who exactly is qualified for a job like that?  Is Obama intelligent?  Is he able to communicate effectively with allies and opponents alike?  Does he have a firm grasp of the issues?

If the answers to those questions are yes, then he's far more qualified than the idiot currently residing in the White House.

PhillyGirl

Are you are equating a Harvard Law professor with 8 years in the state senate and 4 years in the US senate to Palin, who has a BS in journalism...from the University of Idaho, and was mayor of a small town and has served less than 2 years as governor?

Apples and oranges. Or rather apples and blueberries, or whatever fruit you want to substitute that is much smaller than an apple.

But you can go ahead and keep comparing them...it it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy.

You didn't even address my question.

Anyone but Reid.

ATV

I'll address it. You look at the facts. Which she just presented. Not the talking points.

Again, Obama has been nothing but a legislator.  Ever.  Yes, he's well educated, and a very effective speaker, and very inspiring.  McCain is none of those things, IMO.  But he's still very green, with little/no foreign relations experience.  It is perfectly reasonable to say they are on the same playing field in that way.  Except Obama will certainly get the head job if he wins, the prom queen will have to wait until McCain croaks.
Anyone but Reid.

Nixon had extensive experience and was a disaster as a president.  Again, experience means little.

ATV

In fairness to Nixon I wouldn't go as far to say he was a disaster. He did some good things. Yes, like our current president he was a criminal, but he was at least a competent criminal.

Thats a little black and white don't you think?  I would say that experience can't hurt you, so having it certainly means something.

This comment is gross.

She and McCain would completely do all they could to overturn Roe v. Wade.

She's not just pro-life, she's against ALL kinds of abortion...even in cases of rape and incest. She's VERY outspoken about it as well. A woman wanting to take away the woman's right to choose whether or not to have a child the resulted from rape or incest is atrocious. She scares the shtein out of me.

Along with wanting creationism taught in schools.  :sly

I said "little".  And Nixon was a clusterfarg as a chief executive.  Add to the fact that he was a baldfaced liar and a criminal to boot... that equals disaster to me.

The amount of people in this country that are happy with the last 8 years and are willing to put up with another 4 make my head hurt.

America really is THAT stupid.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Of course experience can hurt you. People without experience bring fresh new ideas. They haven't been bought and sold. They can still remember what real life is like, instead of decades of being surrounded by yesmen and lobbyists sucking their iceholes, feeding their giant egos. They still have their idealism.

Lack of experience is the best thing going for both Obama and Palin. Looking back at history, there seems to be no correlation between experience and quality of president.

Besides, no experience can prepare someone for the job of president of the USA. It's a unique job in the entire world. The closest two jobs would be vice-president (where you can at least watch and learn how it's done), and governor of a large state with a powerful executive branch. Next closest would be mayor of a big city or CEO of a big company, both of which require putting together complex management teams and delegating responsibility.

The job is absolutely nothing like being a US Senator, which both the candidates are. The main similarity between senator and president is that they require similar bullshteinting and glad-handing skills.
