I've always wondered..in a context such as this one, is it correct to say "passed" or "past?"  Or do both suffice?

Mrs. Geo (the English teacher) says it is supposed to be "past."

Don't ask me, I'm a humble history teacher.

I'll have to disagree with you on that one. Saying "past seasons" is correct...but in the context I used, "seasons passed" is correct. You wouldn't say "the days have past," but you would say "the days have passed."

Like I said, I had to defer to my wife on that one.  I wasn't sure myself.  I believe it's acting as an adjective, which would be past, whereas passed is a participle that is always used as a verb.

It would be correct to say "In seasons that/which have passed," but I don't believe that passed can stand on its own in that sentence.

And I could be totally wrong about it, as well.

EDIT - Tried to clarify my statement.  Probably failed miserably. :D

Easy answer, Dio.

It's "in seasons before this one"
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

i havent seen it but you know its a true story...i would imagine the ending is what it was

It's spot on and I like that Evan Wright didn't embellish his character and kept the marines on the forefront. The
montage at the end with Johnny Cash was a nice way to wrap it up.
