Stephanie Tubbs Jones, U.S. Rep from Cleveland area, suffered a severe aneurysm while driving Tuesday.

She was the first African-American woman to be elected to the U.S. Congress from the state of Ohio, and she fought for her ideals despite some criticism and opposition within her own ranks and in her district (specifically by being a proponent of free trade).

A special election will be held later this year to determine her replacement.

one of my co workers died of an aneurysm 2 years ago, she didnt show up to work which was very unusual.  Her emergency contacts weren't answering after we tried to call her directly, finally her dad got the message, kicked in her door and found her lying there on the floor, still alive, but they thought the aneurysm happened around 3am.  She died a day later, weird though in that she was perfectly healthy 9 hours before the last time we all saw her.

Yep, that's how quick it is. A friend of mine had one. It burst on Christmas morning. He got out of bed, did the persent exchange thing with the kids, and then went to take a shower. It burst then. He complained about a terribly stiff neck, had his kids go get him some Tylenol while he laid on the bed. When they came up with the pills, he was convulsing...and he passed away a few hours later in the hospital.

My grandfather's second wife was a lucky one, then.  They were packing the car to go on vacation, and her's hit while grabbing something in the kitchen.  She went from "Honey, I'm getting a headache" to dead on the floor in a matter of seconds.

Apparently he had pancreatic cancer that was diagnosed on Sunday.

Find out Sunday; dead on Thursday. Wow.

They say that is the fastest killing cancer, but damn that's blowing through the toll booth and movin out.

We knew that Matt Stover was trying to oust him, but I didn't think he'd go so far as to give the guy inoperable cancer. Union business can be ruthless.

Speaking of which, is the media waiting until the body is cold before discussing the impact this will have on the negotiations to replace the dying CBA? I haven't heard a peep about that issue.
