Not the biggest Oliver Stone fan in fact I think he blows, but that looks pretty good. I bet it breaks $200 million. People love hatin Bush.

There have been a handful of excellent anti-war movies that have bombed in the last couple of years.  People don't go to the theater to be reminded of what they hate.

It would be lucky to break $200m worldwide.  It has a much better chance of being a critical than a commercial success.

I'm don't believe it will make very much money outside of North America. If it were a comedy, it would probably make billions in France.

i saw batman twice, in two diff. theatres. the first time they had prob 6 previews...the 2nd time i went they had just 3. not sure why its diff, but the 2nd time around they did not show ad's or crap about tv shows before hand either. just went straight to previews like the good ol days

isnt the movie a biography of his life...a part of which is the iraq invasion but its not a war movie is it?

id say the over under for its domestic gross would be 45 mil maybe?

I wasn't saying that it's a war movie.  I was just using the comparison that even if people agree with the bent, they aren't going to fork over the dough to see a poignant movie just because it is.

For some oddball reason I keep seeing 'W' having a niche like Passion of the Jew did. People love to watch that type of shtein.

If it were an unbiased biopic pic, maybe the remaining Bush fans would go in droves.  But since it's a Stone pic, it's more likely they boycott.

I'm talking about the niche market being the people that hate him. Like I said, I don't know why but I see some sort of oddball comparison between 'W' and Passion and it has nothing to do with religion or politics.

That's stupid. What was the point of Two Face kidnapping Gordon's family if his character is dead. It just added dead weight to the end of the movie... I'm not buying it.

huh? he kidnapped the family to make gordon pay for what he believes lead to rachel's death.

he was killed as the result of batman trying to save the boy.

i think without the scene where dent holds gordon's family hostage the central point of "sometimes ppl need to have their faith restored" would be lost. it shows how far dent went to seek revenge. how far he went from what he used to be. if you end the movie with just the joker being caught it brings no finale to the character of dent. and nolan made this movie not with a sequel in mind but to have a self contained film.
