The guy went to West Point and somehow managed to graduate.  Under any other circumstances I'd side with the athlete over the U.S. Military, but come on... he went to West farging Point, already.

And his job description?

Coaching ball at West Point.

The Army won't let him play in the NFL so he can coach at WP?

Makes sense!

Boldin, enraged, now says he will not re-sign with the Cardinals

QuoteA major storm hit the Arizona training camp one day before practice begins, when standout wide receiver Anquan Boldin lashed out at the Cardinals organization for failing to follow through on what he said was a promise for a new contract.

He said he had told his agent Drew Rosenhaus to end negotiations and that he would not re-sign with the team.

"Right now I don't want a deal," he said Thursday after the players went through a running drill. "You may think I'm funny or saying that just to say it, but for me, I'm tired of it. I washed my hands of the whole situation."

QuoteHESTER CAVES
Posted by Mike Florio on July 25, 2008, 8:48 a.m.

Less than two days after suggesting that he was prepared to sit out the entire 2008 season, Bears receiver Devin Hester reported for training camp.

According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times, Hester arrived on Friday morning, and will practice with the team later today.

But Hester has arrived without the new contract that he wants.  And there's no guarantee that he'll get his new deal.

Meanwhile, if the Bears choose to push the issue, more than $30,000 of Hester's 2008 base salary of $445,000 will be forfeited due to Hester's two-day hiatus.

Rush wants to buy the Rams

QuoteRush Limbaugh, the conservative talk radio host, said he would be interested in buying the St. Louis Rams if the team were for sale. "The Rams would be a great team to have," Limbaugh said in a phone interview from his Palm Beach, Fla., studio. "I have a lot of friends in ownership in the NFL, and my desire to get involved has not been a secret." Limbaugh grew up in Cape Girardeau but said that does not play into his thinking about the Rams. "This is a business decision," he said. And even for Limbaugh, whose new eight-year syndication deal with Premiere Radio Networks is estimated to be worth $300 million, buying into the NFL would be a stretch. "I have no debt whatsoever. This would require changing that," he said. "There is a whole lot of interest in the Rams with the NFL being a business entity that a lot of people want to be involved in. But it's becoming a billionaires' club."

He and Leonard Little would be a cute couple.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Sounds like he'd fit right in with a lot of the NFL owners.

I'm having a hard time understanding why scumbag, dirtbag, despicable people shouldn't be allowed to own an NFL team?

QB Eagles

Speaking of the Rams, Steven Jackson is holding out. Great news day if you're a Rams fan.

PhillyPhreak54

Would he have a black quarterback?

Rush's team would have 53 whitey's.

No way they let him into their club.

PoopyfaceMcGee

If Banner is the anti-christ, how bad could Rush really be?  Besides, it's not like he wants to buy the Eagles.

Yeah, but you can bet your sweet republican white ass he tries to trade for McNabb.

Are you kidding?  He'd have as many black players as possible, the better to play massa to.  And a cracker QB to keep 'em in line.
