Yeah, when you live in an arid area like Seattle...you have to expect these kinds of problems.  Guy should have gone someplace where it rains a little.

@ Phreak...

The slouch hats wash out fine.  You just put them on your head when they come out of the washer and let them dry to the shape of your head.

QuoteBicycle thief chooses badly -- pulls knife, gets cut

DELAND -- A DeLand man caught trying to steal a bicycle this morning pulled a knife on the owner but ended up with several cuts after the bicycle owner wrestled and slammed him to the floor, police said.

Roebuck Christopher Roebuck, 18, of 2nd Avenue in Daytona Park Estates, was airlifted to Halifax Health Medical Center with a broken finger and several cuts, DeLand police Sgt. John Anderson said. He regained consciousness in the helicopter.

"To steal a man's bicycle is one thing, but to pull a knife is another if you don't know how a person is going to react," Anderson said. "Sometimes it's just a bad idea."

According to a police report, Devin Padgett heard his dog barking at someone outside his apartment at 515 E. Church St. at about 12 a.m. When he stepped outside, he saw Roebuck riding away with his bicycle. Padgett confronted Roebuck and took him to the manager's apartment.

Roebuck complied until he heard Padgett tell the manager, Larry Robins, to call the police. Roebuck tried to get away and when Padgett tried to stop him, Roebuck bit him in the arm. At the same time, Robins came out and saw Roebuck with a silver knife in his left and yelled, "He's got a knife," the report said. Robins tried to help Padgett and Roebuck also bit him in the arm, leaving a 3-inch laceration, police said.

Roebuck swung the knife back and forth at both men, but Padgett grabbed Roebuck from behind and slammed him to the ground, bouncing Roebuck's head on the concrete.   :-D

Police found Roebuck bleeding from the head and arm area, the report said.

After being treated and released from the hospital, Roebuck was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, battery and theft, police said.

Roebuck just completed a 30-day jail sentence for drug possession, according to court records.

I heart Florida.

Airlifted for a broken finger and several cuts?  For a bicycle thief?

$10,000 worth of quality health care expenditure right there.

30 days in jail clearly did its job.  Send these people to rehab not a place that makes them more prone to violence

Bob Novak hit a pedestrian today in D.C. while driving his 2004 Corvette at low speeds.  Pedestrian went to hospital but is fine.  Anyone else not feel so great about a 77 year old dude driving a Corvette?

I don't feel great about any 77-year-old driving.  Especially not a Republican.  Republicans are mean.

I'd like to see what it takes for a 77 year old to get into and/or out of that car.  Minutes, I'm sure.

All on the County too because you know that douchebag doesn't have insurance or 10 cents to his name.
