That 94' Expos team was so freaking good. They had everyone...I think they were 30+ games over .500 when the strike came down.

shtein, I wouldnt have come back to Olympic Stadium after that either...

But this reminds me of being a kid...

All the Nationals have are a bunch of role players to go along with no pitching whatsoever. The only "good" starters they have are Zimmerman, Milledge and Guzman and two of them are hurt, one out for the year. Every pitcher in their rotation is the exact same and their ace is Tim Redding.

Well, that one makes me laugh...

When he was a top prospect with the Mets last year, no one on this board would recognize his potential. Now that he's off the team and hitting an impressive .245, he's "good".

Dillen

I don't like Milledge. He won't ever be a great player, and that was always obvious to me. The GM of the AAA team here, direct quote: "Lastings wont ever be more than a good player. They call him a '5 tool player' just because he can do everything pretty well but nothing great." He's well rounded. Decent power, good speed and fielder with a good arm. He was one of the Nationals best players before he got hurt, although obviously that's not saying much. He would be one of the best 4th OFs in the majors if he could play that role, but can't since his team is so bad. Look at the 30 days or so before he was hurt, something like 7 HR and 10 SB. That's why he's "good."

The BIGSTUD

The Mets winning is good on two fronts:

1. They are getting their little hot streak out of the way in july, and it will die out very soon. They simply don't have the hitting or the pitching for that matter for it to last much longer.

2. I want the Phillies to be tested. I don't want them to get into the postseason untested. I want them to earn the division to see what they are made of. That way if the 2nd best team in the NL East(Marlins) catch them, I'd love to hear the excuses from management about Blanton being their big move.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Fast Eddie trades for Wolf

Wade trading for crappy ex-Phils is like when Kotite started loading the Birds up with crappy ex-Jets.
