With the trade deadline closing in on teams, the options for adding pitching will diminish. But one of those options could be veteran pitcher Freddy Garcia, who is a free agent.

Garcia's agent, Peter Greenberg, said Thursday afternoon that Garcia likely will throw for scouts on Aug. 18 and 19, with the hope of signing a deal and helping a team down the stretch. Days are quickly coming off the calendar, but Greenberg said that Garcia is working out and working on his arm strength and that "he's excited about where he's at."

The Devil Rays won today in bizarre fashion.  Two guys get drilled in the bottom of the 10th and the Tigers' pitcher ends up walking the guy he drilled in the chest.

Yes, the chest.  I thought he was dead as a motherfarger too.  He was writhing on the ground like he got shot Bodymore style.

Oh, and the Devil Rays have cheerleaders.  Seriously.

The Yanks-Angels game was fun to watch. Chone Figgins handed the Yanks a win. I think he had like 3 errors in an inning.

White Sox and Royals had a Hoyda brawl. All basebrawls are Hoyda, but this one was even more than normal.
