Obama isn't ready to be president because he tells it like it is?

Wow.  I'm not disputing what you've suggested only recognizing it for the sad truth that it is.

worse than that they scare everyone into thinking they gotta take a pill for all their problems and on a daily basis they invent new syndromes diseases and sicknesses for people to worry about...they are straight up criminals

Yes!

This bugs the shtein out of me. Restless legs syndrome? I mean, c'mon. I don't think prescription drugs should be allowed to advertise on TV. It's stupid as shtein.

Easily the worst decision ever made by the FDA was to allow drug companies to direct market.  And I work for one.  The entire Vioxx debacle stems from this.  If Vioxx had been used as intended, and not direct marketed to every person with a sore knee, we wouldn't have had nearly the health disaster it turned into.  And the people whom really benfitted from Vioxx would still have access to it.

Pretty much. It irks the shtein out of me to see those commercials for pills.

Ooooh lets make up symptons, slap a fancy name on it and make a pill for it and then tell, not ask people, that they have this problem.

This country is way overmedicated.

Saying something like that isn't 'telling it like it is'. It's talking off the cuff, saying something borderline ignorant (without malice granted), but something that could have and should have been addressed differently.

Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

I can forgive him too, but it would be hard to vote for him.
Anyone but Reid.

Buck up camper and do it for me.  He's the best candidate.

Ok, this might be as credible as PFT, but the story is too big to overlook: Carter and Gore to endorse Obama?
QuoteFormer president Carter and former vice-president Gore have already held high-level discussions about delivering the message that she must stand down for the good of the Democrats.

"They're in discussions," a source close to Carter told Scotland on Sunday. "Carter has been talking to Gore. They will act, possibly together, or in sequence."
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

Carter already has been hinting at this...for weeks now. I posted an article about it about 2 weeks ago.

Geo is right, of course, but this is rather big news. The former first lady being told to drop out by her husband's ex-VP is a pretty clear message.

QuoteABC News' Mary Bruce Reports: Former President Jimmy Carter confirmed in an exclusive "This Week" interview with George Stephanopoulos that he will not be endorsing any time soon. "The only thing I know is that, I have not made an endorsement, and don't intend to, until the time of the convention."

Another thing to consider is if we had a national health system, this would unburden the private sector. Such as GM who claims they can't compete globally because for every vehicle they sell some $2000 dollars (or so) of the vehicle's price goes towards their employee's health care. This would be compeletely removed. Smaller businesses would be free to hire new employees without fear of having to pay this benefit.

So, in your view, who's paying for it?  Someone has to.

It cuts into the insurance companies profits but they're still profits. It's the cost of doing the business they do. You can't all of a sudden change the rules because you don't like the way things are working and farg the whole system? Of course that might not even be the reality of th situation. I have no way of knowing either way.

Anyone ever wonder how the miltary is able to recruit doctors into their ranks and give up 6+ figures a year for roughly $50k starting out?

They recruit from the bottom 30% of medical graduating classes.  The ones who barely made it through and aren't getting job offers from anyone except free clinics in Harlem and the Peace Corps.  The military offers them a perfect training ground to improve their skills as Dr's without the threat of malpractice lawsuites (since you can't sue the gov't).

Of course, that's not the case with every military dr.  There are a lot of them out there who are excellent docs.  But if I ever go to medical with an ailment and I'm greeted by some 27 year old doc fresh out of med school, it's best if I just drag my self back through the front door an heal on my own.

carter is a lunatic and was an awful president. i wouldnt want his endorsement if i was that twat or barry.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
