Who else here has lost most if not all hope that they will add a receiver this offseason?

I was confident, but not so much anymore.

im still very confident...nothing was ever gonna happen until earliest at the draft...if the draft passes with no wr ill be upset and once training camp comes without a wr then ill be worried...

id even say so far everything has gone better than it could have...the fact that theres tons of smoke out there should give much hope for the fire to break out draft week/day...it could have been silent on the wr front so far

Rock on, IGY.  Preach.

i say we now start the bidding for his teammate boldin :) how can you play along next to him when you know he's making 10 mil per?!?  ask lito, it ain't cool!

i don't see us taking roy either since det got 2 (?) cb's in the off-season, one in a trade for shaun.

so that leaves us the head case CJ which i think andy will pass on.

helllooooo sampy!

Damn, and they were SO CLOSE to getting a deal done with a player who's team says he was never on the trading block.

id be upset if i ever thought they were gonna get him but the money wouldnt allow it...

i wanna see all the contract details on this one because they owed him like 32 mil over the next two...then he gave up a free agent year for only 8 mil more over two seasons?...i dont think so

QuoteThe two-time Pro Bowl star said, "I'm very happy with this my intent was to stay with the Cardinals, I'm grateful that we were able to get this done." Fitzgerald led the NFC in 2007 with 100 receptions and 10 touchdowns. Fitzgerald will get $33 million over the next three years $30-million is guaranteed.

In 2008 he will get $17 million $15 is guaranteed if the Cardinals released him after 2008 season
he would become a unrestricted free agent, he also has a no trade clause with-out his consent. Cardinals Vice President of Football Operations Rod Graves and Larry's agent

Eugene Parker negotiated the deal. In Larry's four years in the NFL

he has 330 receptions for 4,554 yards and 34 touchdowns.

I guess he wasn't lying when he said he wanted to stay a Cardinal

Rome

He signed for less money now so he could get a shorter contract.  He'll be 28 years old when the contact expires.  That means he'll have another shot at a huge payday while he's still in his prime.

PS: farg!  I still had hope.  Ah well...

The no-trade clause is interesting. That's the first one I have heard of in the NFL...are they common?

if these reported numbers are true and i have a hard time believing they are then he actually gave back money

he was gonna make 33 million over the next two years guaranteed and then become a free agent....now hes gonna make 30 million guaranteed over the next three years and not be a free agent?...

it just doesnt make sense

this is pretty much the standard post until next off-season begins.  unless they surprise me with andre johnson or some shtein.  no stud wr, again.

Stunned.

I am absolutely stunned that this thread is back on-topic.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.
