re-watched episode 6 just now.

the randy scene with bunk = most painful moment in the show since wallace died.

not even top 10

i have refused to read this thread for the last three episodes...but they have been phenominal....right up there with the first four years...next week is gonna be redonkulous

yea im pretty sure it wont. they are trying to make the finale into an event like many series finales are, but the problem is only 1 million people or so watch this show, so it wont be much.

thats pathetic and sickening...the fact that hbo farged simon by only giving him ten episodes then trying to make the finale into an 'event'...the wires so great because of its slow meticulate realistic character and plot development...so the notion of one episode being any better than another is so funny and just shows that execs are dummies and david simon is better than all our lives put together

i watched ep 9 again last night as i was going to bed and damn was it even better than on first watch

particularly brilliant was the connection btwn bubs and dook...both reminiscing about more innocent times...bubs in the park watching the sun go down and dook with the piss balloons...and then showing the vicious never ending cycle that is the inner city drug game...while one man might just be getting clean you have another kid on his way to hell...which was what that camp dook was walking into literally was...hell...with the fires blazing

i feel as tho simon didnt have bubs crying for sherrod but crying for kids like dook who are going to end up like sherrod

just incredible tv

most definitely. another thing that stood out was the chilling performance of jamie hector when he found out that omar was calling him a bitch. just the look on his face, the way his eyes barely blinked...damn. i normally thing of the wire as an ensemble piece where its impossible to pick one amazing performance of another, but this guy has really stood out over the past few years, and especially this season.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Marlo has a soulless look in his eyes that is just plain scary. I thought they overdramatized that scene a bit but regardless his character reads perfectly like a Greek tragedy. The look on Chris's face when he was flippin out said it all.

SunMo

snoops the girl right?

in the few episodes i've seen she has to be one of the worst actors i've ever seen.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

MDS

shes not really acting, shes playing herself.

the guy who died in the omar shootout in episode 4 or 5 was the guy the omar character was based on, donnie andrews.

and also sun mo is as cuddly as a tweddy bear but in reality is a dirty cracker that has no place in this thread.

if she's playing herself than she's a certified retard
