The death was fitting. It made sense. It would have been a complete cop out to have Omar gets the heroes ending or an over-dramatic, contrived send-off. He went into buy a pack of smokes, and some little thug hopper offed him. Just like that. That's what happens. Say what you want about the phony serial killer story line, but this was a painfully realistic way to send off Omar. The character certainly deserved better, but this isn't a typical TV show.

They didn't have to kill him off...and letting Kenard some random 10 year old hopper kill him was beyond stupid. He didn't need a heroes ending, I would have rather of seen his character go into exile then have him killed off in such a manner. If I were the writers I'd be more concerned about giving the fans what they want. Its like the writers just threw that in there because like you said 'this isn't your typical show so this is how we are different'. We already get it, this isn't the Soprano's or some other crappy show.

That scene would have been like Clint Eastwood in High Plains Drifter going after the outlaws who whipped him then getting shot by the midget when he went into the saloon to grab a beer.

The best part of the serial killer angle was lastnight when the psychologist was describing the killers characteristics and McNulty's face when he realized he was describing him

Like I said, after these last two episodes season 5 is dead to me.

The BIGSTUD

I thought it was fitting at the time, but Omar is way too street smart to go out like that. He wouldn't be walking the streets like that either. He hides in the shadows and comes out when necessary.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

not when he's telling anyone who will listen to tell Marlo to meet him in the streets...anytime...anywhere

He took one look at Kenard and didn't view him as a threat. That was the point. When someone else came in the store he looked over to see who it was. If it was Chris or Snoop or someone like that, he would've drawn his gun. But it was a little kid, so he didn't bother. And now he's dead. He was done in by a little thug. Fitting end.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Wingspan

So I got the first disc of season 1 from netflix. I watched all three episodes.

It's ok. And i will eventually get to disc 2, but I am not in any hurry.

yea im pretty sure it wont. they are trying to make the finale into an event like many series finales are, but the problem is only 1 million people or so watch this show, so it wont be much.

i do hope im wrong, but at least this might give me some time re-watch the entire 5th season before the finale.
