brutal call but an absolutely idiotic move by stokes to be all over him that far from the basket

yeah, i agree, my first reaction was to think that foul is called a lot actually, but it was the situation and time left that makes it such a terrible call

if its the other baseline it might not even get called the fact that it was 85 feet from the basket with .1 seconds left is a tragedy...in fact on the possesion before there wa a no call (and a proper one) on reynolds...but still refs are complete douchebags and if you possibly can you dont give them the out to make the call and that was definitely a time the player could have backed off....

basically the ref choked as bad as you possibly could....he didnt make a concious decision to blow the whistle he literally saw the slight contact and had a reactionary moment where he completely lost it

WASHINGTON - First, some housekeeping: no carping this morning from Villanova fans about referee Bob Donato's call with one-tenth of a second left against Corey Stokes. Georgetown's Jonathan Wallace had the ball, and was moving upcourt, and then he was out of bounds, because Stokes bodied him out of bounds.
It's so easy to sit in a TV studio and say, "Let the kids play." Players play to the whistle; refs ref to the whistle, and Donato was right, and after Wallace knocked down both free throws, Villanova lost a 55-53 heartbreaker at Verizon Center. Nobody messed up.

i used to love him on the kornheiser show and as a nba insider he was great....but ever since the inquirer hired him hes been a disgrace...he hates on everything philly and writes stuff with no background to it...

and he lives in dc and writes for an out of town paper...how you gonna write opinion columns on a sports in a city and not live there where you can get the feel of the place and people

youve showed more bias for temple and against the joe than jeradi has shown on anything in his entire life...its almost laughable that you would criticze someone else of bias

and if you dont think a close loss in a game that you should have won on the road against a top ten rpi team isnt good then you dont know how selection sunday works

granted an eight seed is a little high...but people mis-seed all the time...and i might even grant you a little philly bias in jeradi since he lives there and sees the teams all the time...but if the joe and any of the other big five teams switched places this year hed be saying the same thing about any of them

im a fan of temple, silly. im supposed to be bias. hes an journalist covering the team. fawning over them and showering them with praise is pathetic. they not only lost to xavier, but they also lost to duquense. no mention of how that helped their tourney chances.

hes been slobbering over st joes for years. they havent even made the tourney since that once in a lifetime 2004 season. farg that stupid, arrogant school and farg jerardi.
