story in the paper today says that fassel was actually hired by lil danni but danni couldnt get permission to hire the assistants he wanted rex ryan being one so he unhired fassel and is continuing the search for another few weeks

Had a long chat with my AFC North scout friend this morning. He is still down at the Senior Bowl and here is the latest he has heard:

He spoke directly with a taterskins coach yesterday while eating dinner. This coach said that, at this point, nobody thinks Gregg Williams would even take the job if it was eventually offered to him. This coach said that the other taterskins coaches he has talked to feel very disrepected by being kept in the dark about their status. They all want out of the situation and released from their contracts so they can find employment with another team and some of them have specifically requested a release from their contracts. Snyder didn't allow it and that is when Snyder had Gibbs step in to talk with the coaches and set up meetings with them all next week.

This coach said that here is what the taterskins are looking at for next year: "They will either have a whole new staff or, if most of us are not released from our contracts, they will have a bunch of disgruntled coaches that will hate coming to work everyday."

My buddy's GM told him that he thinks the taterskins have such a mess on their hands right now that it will probably be hard for us to fill a whole staff right now with competent coaches.

My buddy leaves the Senior Bowl tomorrow so I will post anything else I hear.

With all of the discussions I have had with my buddy this week I just don't think as fans we can truly comprehend how toxic this situation is right now inside the taterskins organization. UUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHH

This is from Jason Reid: We've confirmed an ESPN report that Jim Zorn has been hired as the taterskins' new offensive coordinator even though a head coach has not been named. We reported a couple days ago that Zorn was at the top of Jim Fassel's list of potential offensive coordinators and is very highly regarded by Gregg Williams as well.
The hiring of Zorn likely means that associate head coach -- ofense Al Saunders is finished with the team. Owner Daniel Snyder and vice president of football operations Vinny Cerrato were privately critical of the offense's performance under Saunders the past two seasons. The two were especially concerned, sources said, about the development of young quarterback Jason Campbell, whose progress is the organization's top priority.

i think they end up getting spagnulo which is a bad thing...not because i think hell be a good coach because i have no idea but because the douchbag skin fans will all circle the wagons and say that lil danni got his man in the end and that he was waiting the whole time for the giants to be eliminated from the playoffs so they could get spag

LOL at the taterskins hiring Jim Zorn before they hire a head coach.  And what happens if the head coach they decide on wants someone other than Zorn?  Or how about if Gregggggg Williams gets the job and decides to retain Saunders?  And what about Saunders?
