Perhaps as the lone person here who doesn't drink themselves to death every Sunday, I'd have to say that the report was certainly on to something. Yes, Gumbel is whiter than Diomedes, but come on, don't you just want to punch every member of the DTC right in the face?

Also he described "most" of them as "working professionals." I didn't know working part-time at the Burger King on the Beltway made you a working professional.

Just got a call from my AFC North buddy. Nobody he has talked to at the Senior Bowl (and there are hundreds of scouts coaches and agents there) has heard anything concrete regarding our new coach. Of course, he said they have all heard the media reports of Fassel, Ryan and Zorn and people are completely shocked. He said he has seen alot of crazy stuff in his 7 + years in the NFL but he can't remember a decision that has received a unilateral gasp of shock/laughter like this.

There are alot of people saying alot of things. here is a major one: A group of scouts and front office people were sitting watching practice together discussing the rumors and a very high ranking official from the Eagles makes this comment: "For the last 4 years we finally had to start worrying about the taterskins as a threat on the field and that little ego-maniac is blowing it to pieces. I LOVE IT!" This was followed by laughter by the dozens of people that heard it.

Finally, he did say that he is still skeptical that fassel is the man becuase nobody down there has any hard facts to support the rumors.

Now, get back to your depression. UUUGGGHHH

Fassel as the new Skins coach is about as good news as a fan of an NFC East team could hope. Their D will take a big step backwards next season with a new DC, one thing Williams excelled at was scheming to get the most out what talent he had.

Gary Clark said today that every player to a man wants Gregg Williams to be the next head coach. I think it's safe to assume who #21 would want in this circumstance.
