So when can we officially start fantasizing about Chad Johnson? March 1st? When does trading and Free Agency start?

Doesn't matter when Free Agency starts.  The only way the Eagles can aquire CJ is via trade if Reid quits dies.

well unless they all improve tremendously it is horrible to everyone.

the eagles need playmakers not some guys they are high on. how many times have they been high on a player only to see that player dissapoint and not be in the league anymore?.

it really is amazing...its hilarious to hear sheeple like munson not be able to defend any of the linebackers with their play and instead use the defense that "they are really high on them"...as tho that makes everything ok...they also were high on matt mccoy and barry gardner and mark simenou  ect ect ect

the only hope is that jj did say after the season that none of the linebacker spots are set...the problem is you actually have to go out and get players better than what they have...i dont see them doing that...i see them putting gocong bradley gaither and takeo into a hat and pulling out names and positions and see who goes where...its kind of depressing

Hmmm...wow yeah see I don't see where I "defended" the players anywhere just because the Eagles coaching staff is/was high on said player.

I defended Gocong because it was his first year as a starter, his first injury free year, and for a guy who never played LB in his life he didn't do half bad. Infact, he was solid if unspectacular at times. You seem to think, in one season, he's hit a ceiling, all the while proclaiming Bradley better then him by seeing him play in ONE game.

There's a reason why you aren't a coach in the NFL, and it's because you'd be terrible at it.

gocong hit his nfl ceiling in college..as in he shouldnt have ever been an nfl linebacker...and if he hasnt hit a ceiling then tell me what hes shown that screams im gonna be a better?...hes smart enough...hes an asian engineer and hes been in the system for two years so you cant use the 'hes gonna learn more'....the only thing left is to point to his athleticism...except that there isnt any

and i never proclaimed bradley better i just said id like to see him more so that it can be determined as to whether he is an nfl linebacker...altho i cant imagine he would be worse than gocong
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

Bradley's a pale faced round eye so you'd have to atleast assume he's able to see more of the field than Gocong.

Bradley is supposed to be a MLB. Gocong isn't even an outside linebacker. And yeah, I'll say he's better, because in the one game Bradley was in he played better than I saw Gocong play all season. Next year will probably be Gaither Bradley and Takeo starting. With the way this team played the run this year, that might not be half bad, although it could be better.

Gocong is going to make all of the haters eat their words next season.

Book it.

Hey, I'll be happy to see it. I have no problem with being wrong, it happens.

Yes he's been "in the system" for 2 full years now, but you really underestimate what playing time and practice time can do for a guy. He spent last year on IR, got no game experience, and couldn't practice with the team. All of that showed in the first few games of the season when he looked lost and wasn't getting around the ball. As the season went on he was making more tackles, getting more pressures on his blitzes, meeting guys at the line of scrimmage and not 5 yards off the ball like Dhani Jones was last year.

This will be his 3rd year in the system and probably his 2nd as a starter assuming Bradley doesn't perform well enough to unseat him. He won't be thinking about his responsibility on the defensive calls anymore, he'll KNOW it and he'll be better at reacting because of that. Whether it leads to him making more plays or not remains to be seen. He played well enough this year to prove he deserves another year at it. Hell, if this fargup of a coaching staff gives a stiff like Jones more then 1 year, Gocong certainly deserves it.

My point in saying that coaching staff was high on him there is because I believe they want a future LB core of Gaither at WIL, Bradley at Mike, and Gocong at SAM.  I don't think they want to replace Gocong with Bradley, I think they want those two to play along side of each other.

And for the first time in a while I'm not completely disappointed with the LB's they have to choose from. That being said, I wouldn't mind watching Gocong ride the bench if they went out and signed a stud SAM LB. Are there any on the market within Banners spending limit? Probably not...

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

How ironic, I considered finding that and using it on the post of yours I quoted.

You really are an idiot.
