well unless they all improve tremendously it is horrible to everyone.

the eagles need playmakers not some guys they are high on. how many times have they been high on a player only to see that player dissapoint and not be in the league anymore?.

it really is amazing...its hilarious to hear sheeple like munson not be able to defend any of the linebackers with their play and instead use the defense that "they are really high on them"...as tho that makes everything ok...they also were high on matt mccoy and barry gardner and mark simenou  ect ect ect

the only hope is that jj did say after the season that none of the linebacker spots are set...the problem is you actually have to go out and get players better than what they have...i dont see them doing that...i see them putting gocong bradley gaither and takeo into a hat and pulling out names and positions and see who goes where...its kind of depressing

i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

it is depressing.

consider this...after hearing yr in and yr out how much depth they have on the O and D line ....both lines need upgrades again.

they never find a DE.

LBs will be left as is.

i am scared that safety will left as is and they will just hope dawkins remains healthy and mikell plays at a high level.

they will try to get maybe one FA defensive player but i do not see a big name being added.

offensively they will continue to shove curtis's 1000 yd season down our throats and hope a healthy mcnabb makes all the difference.

if they dont add playmakers to the front seven then expect to see more of the same next year...a dearth of turnovers and an inability to stop teams when you most need to

i think the bottom line is that we must accept the fact that the linebackers are the defensive version of the wr's...its just a position they dont care about and never will...so like you said you gotta hope they get a bigtime defensive end and then improve the safties

Rome

i hate the comparisons between chad johnson and TO.  they are nothing alike.  the only thing they have in common is their TD celebrations.  chad johnson does not cause problems.

Just to be clear I wasn't comparing the players, just the situation.  And they are alike in two ways... they're both annoying, attentionwhoring iceholes and they are both flat-out great football players.  I just don't know if the drama is worth it.

TO is as mentally imbalanced as anyone I've ever seen. Like britney spears imbalanced.

Chad Johnson is nothing like TO except the fact that he's a loudmouth.

rjs246

There were stories a few years back about Johnson calling Marvin Lewis in the middle of the night crying with ideas for the offense.

Even if they were true I'd like him on the Eagles. Sissy.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Hugely speculative rumor not mentioned or discussed yet?

Quote
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Donté Stallworth could come back to the Philadelphia Eagles after he wins a Super Bowl ring with New England.

Stallworth is due a monstrous bonus in February, one the Patriots likely won't pay because they will have to spend money to keep Randy Moss.

Stallworth qualifies as a playmaker and probably one who would be acceptable to the Eagles' high-maintenance quarterback, Donovan  McNabb.

I was actually thinking this might be a possibility yesterday while watching the games.  I don't know if the Eagles will go after him again but I think there's a very strong possibility the Pats release him.  He's got the big bonus coming along with the fact that he hasn't really done all that much this year outside of a couple good games in the middle of the season.  I'd love having him back but he's not at the top of my list.

Think I Am Legend meets Jackass

QB Eagles

My memory of last offseason is fading, but wasn't there some bad blood between the front office and Stallworth? Like Rosenhaus pulling contract shenanigans and then Stallworth's drug test failure leaking out? Then the Eagles offered Ryan Fowler more money than they offered Stallworth? It's all a blur now.

Don Ho

speaking of Ryan Fowler, what the heck happened to him this season?  did he ever amount to much?

He had a decent season starting at MLB for the Titans. He ended up on IR the last few weeks of the season though.

So when can we officially start fantasizing about Chad Johnson? March 1st? When does trading and Free Agency start?
I said watch the game and you will see my spirit manifest.-ILLEAGLE 02/04/05

Hmmm...wow yeah see I don't see where I "defended" the players anywhere just because the Eagles coaching staff is/was high on said player.

I defended Gocong because it was his first year as a starter, his first injury free year, and for a guy who never played LB in his life he didn't do half bad. Infact, he was solid if unspectacular at times. You seem to think, in one season, he's hit a ceiling, all the while proclaiming Bradley better then him by seeing him play in ONE game.

There's a reason why you aren't a coach in the NFL, and it's because you'd be terrible at it.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Probably would still be just like TO. Maybe balder.

Personally, I see more of a chance of Spears ending up with Romo though.
