And Bin Laden is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.  Take him out and another delusional fool would gladly take his place.  Risking a nuclear conflict over Bin Laden seems to me to be an unnecessary gamble on our part.

You take him out not because it would cause his organization to crumble, but because it was he that attacked the United States.  No country we haven't recently invaded in the world would begrudge us that.  Despite Bush Cheney's best efforts, the world still sympathizes with us for 9/11 and would support a strike that eliminates Bin Ladin.

He and the other criminals who perpetrated 9/11 are the proper targets, and we should move heaven and earth to get them.  Bush didn't care to do that...maybe Obama will.

I agree that it sets an awful precedent.  Look at North Korea.  They're a broken, bankrupt and insignificant country being held hostage by a regime of lunatics, yet for whatever reason, we haven't attacked them.  Why is that?

they also are not harboring people who directly attacked us

as for the nuclear weapons i repeat no COUNTRY will ever again use them again...its just not gonna happen...they serve their purpose as a deterrant...but even the most "evil" leaders know the catastrophe that would ensue with a nuclear war...that said if a rogue group such as al queda gets a hold of something like that then watch out

plus as i mentioned pakistan doesnt have a nuke that can come within a 8 hour flight of our country...neither does north korea for that matter...nukes might deter us from confronting russia but not these small fries

are you saying you would have had a problem with us rolling thru afghanistan and pakistan after 911 to hunt al queda/taliban/bin laden targets but now you wouldnt?....what has changed?...we should have been doing this from jump start

The Taliban was directly responsible for the 9/11 attacks.  We had every right to attack them.

As for the eight hour flight comment you made, nuclear weapons don't require ICBM's for delivery.  They can be sent in a packing crate labeled "Lego's" and considering how horrendous our port and border security is in this country, I'd say it's more than an even chance someone will make us pay dearly for those oversights.

As for Bin Laden, of course I'd like to see him captured.  I'd like to see him stand trial and be locked away in a hole for the rest of his miserable life.  My point is and remains that risking a war over his capture isn't worth it.  There are ways for us to be able to get him that don't include excursions into other countries or lobbing cruise missiles at them.

I seriously can't believe you two are the ones here playing the unilateral attack card either.

was there a revelation or news break where they found out pakistan is holding bin laden?

or is this one of those assumed theories?

No.  They allowed bin Ladin to nest in their hood.  They did not plan that shtein, or carry it out.  The war in afganistan is almost as much of a mess as the one in Iraq.

Unilateral attack?  I guess that's what I'm saying, sure.  9/11 was a crime.  The criminals who made it are known and free.  It is our right to go get them.  That's the idea.  It is not our right to invade and occupy the country in which they hide, but damn if we can't go get the motherfargers.

I realized that's where he is when I was tripping my balls off on mushrooms a few weeks ago.  Amazing how clearly you see things when your third eye is open and focused.

Why is everyone so afraid of nuclear war? The survivors would be given a chance to start a civilization where Britney's kids and Lindsay's beef flaps weren't front page news. I'm rooting for armageddon.

romey you do know there is tons of taliban chillin in pakistan right now

and its not nearly that easy to secure and transport a nuclear weapon...perhaps youre talking about some sort of crude dirty weapon...also while our ports could be better secured dont believe that its some terrorist underground railroad where weapons and bombs and nukes are just flowing thru....its simply not true and would be virtually impossible for someone to do that....its certainly not a reason not to go after al queda

oh and bin laden is either in pakistan or the basement of the white house trading mujahideen stories with george bush sr

Saudi nationals predominantly carried out the 9/11 attacks.  Therefore, attack Saudi Arabia.  Unilaterally, of course.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Can't.  They provide too much oil, and we're still dependent on oil.

Only in the past decade has the sluttiness of women become headline news. Prior to that it was just understood and accepted as fact.

vigy is right in this little tiff

Pakistan is currently harboring Bin Ladin behind the shield of their nukes.  It's a ransom racket, only they have no intention of giving him up.  It would turn their country into outright civil war if they did.  And they have the Nuke, and we don't have the balls...so they say give us money to fight the xtremists.  Money goes to other shtein, not to fighting terrorists.  So we give more money.  But we don't attack...nooo....we're too farging Hoyda for that.

No country who harbors Bin Ladin is a U.S. ally.  If we know where he is, then we go get him.  We tell them we're gonna, so they can prep their people and in the case of Pakistan we probably tell Inida too, so everyone can exhale on that point, and then we do it.

Being kept at bay by some punks with nukes sets an awful awful precedent.

I agree with you Dio.  But a punk ass first term Senator doesn't get to say that shtein when another person is the CinC.  Even if that person is a complete farging imbecile.  And even if he wins the election, he shouldn't say that shtein.  If he gets good intel, just do it.  He comes off looking like a 12 year old bully, who's just a Hoyda waiting to get beat up.  My kinda president.
Anyone but Reid.
