Yeah, I kinda liked Reign Over Me.

I caught Turistas on cable the other day. Interesting idea, and some pretty shocking effects...but ultimately not very good. The best part of it: Olivia Wilde.

It takes a sack to be such an outward-projecting fan of AoD and admit you hadn't seen the original Evil Dead before now.

It also means you suck.

Well, it's not like there's a complicated linear plot line that the movies follow. But sure, I suck. I've now seen Evil Dead once, Evil Dead II twice and Army of Darkness one hundred and thirty seven times.

I still say Evil Dead II was the best of the three.  Bruce Campbell does too, according to an interview he did last year.

I finally got around to seeing "Knocked Up" the other day.  I thought it was kind of uneven.  There were hilarious scenes and then there were periods where I was like - come on, let's gooooooooo - with the storyline.

Whatever, though.  Katherine Heigl was in it so it automatically gets 3.5 out of 5 and I have to admit Seth Rogan is funnier than hell.

BTW: the girl who played Debbie was hot too.  And I didn't know Maggie from Growing Pains was in it either.  Surprised me when I saw her.  I thought she quit acting entirely.

'American Gangster': A Direct Hit

In "American Gangster," time doesn't fly, it explodes.

The thing is 2 1/2 hours long; it feels like 40 minutes.

Whether it's the next great American crime movie or simply this year's professional stunner will be determined over the next few months. For now, it's enough to say that the story of the rise and fall of an African American drug kingpin is relentlessly told by the English director Ridley Scott ("Gladiator," "Black Hawk Down"); it just keeps on coming.

Is that guy a racist, or simply an idiot?  Basically, he hates Denzel Washington.

I did get a chuckle that in order to identify Denzel, he put "Virtuosity" after his name - not "Glory", "Crimson Tide", "The Pelican Brief", or "Training Day".  Ass.

And LOL at the Virtuosity reference.  Although I actually enjoyed that ridiculous movie.  In fact there aren't too many Denzel movies I haven't enjoyed, so...
