this lineup is sickeningly frustrating

theyve won six in a row. you were nowhere to be found. then they play like ass for one game and here you are with the bitchy comment. shocker.

:-D

Vintage igy.

Alfonseca should never pitch again for this team. Seriously.

So I went to the game with my nephew and his friend... what  a game to pick.  BOOOOOOO!

I did enjoy some verbal sparring with the local Marlins fans.

Them:  Let's go Marlins!
Me:  All the way to Vegas/Portland/Charlotte (I rotated)

By and large it was just fun ribbing - I cheered loudly for the Phillies, and they laughed when I called Burrel Patricia.

i know they arent gonna go, but it doesnt stop me for rooting/hoping. and im not gonna start complaining when they cant win a game where the starting pitcher gives up 7 runs with recording an out. they scored 6 runs even though utley, burrell and howard did nothing. the offense is money, its always been the farging pitching.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

That's funny.  If the search function weren't busted, I clearly recall about 3 weeks ago when I said something similar and I got bashed by you for it... since he HAPPENED to have a good outing that night.

Shocker.

One kind of funny thing happened:

I was talking to my wife (who was home with both children) to see how the kids were, when I catch out of the corner of my eye movement.  This was during the disastrous bottom of the first. Because it seemed very close to me, I stand up and look behind me quickly, to see this young, but rather homely young woman (probably early to mid 20s) dancing behind me with two of those macarenas.

Being a rather large man (6'4"), even being in the row ahead of her, when I stood up I was a fair amount taller.  She was suddenly all apologetic and ran quickly off to another part of the section.

I'm sure she was doing something (I have no idea what) that she would think I would have reason to be mad about, but I thought it was too funny that she scurried off so quickly.  I had never said a word to her.

Philadelphia fans - our reputation preceeds us!  >:D

Watching the game on television, I have to say that the stadium looks even more empty in person.

There were ENTIRE sections devoid of any fans that are supposed to be on sale (they may not be sold unless they're needed, but they're listed), and the upper deck sections that had people (right beind home plate) were less than half full.

Here was what the Marlins were doing on a SATURDAY night to try to bring people in:

1.  First 5,000 cars got a Marlins flashlight.
2.  Everyone got the macarena.
3.  Some Spanish-language concert after the game.
4.  Fireworks

I don't know the exact attendance, but it looked like about 20,000 people. (EDIT:  I just looked it up, and it was about 24,500.)

It's 5-0, beat up on Scott Olsen. Adam Eaton is pitching well and just hit a homer. What the hell is wrong with him, he's supposed to suck.
