IGY has talked a lot about Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday and every time he does it reminds me of my favorite movie characters.

So, inspired by this post (and others), who are your favorite characters in movie history?

To use Star Wars as an example, I'm looking the Bobba Fetts and Han Solos of cinema, not the Darth Vaders and Luke Skywalkers...

There are tons, obviously but the first one that springs to mind is Mr. Blonde (Michael Madsen) in Reservoir Dogs.

The scene where he cuts the cop's ear off is hilarious, nauseating and terrifying all at once.  Great scene and a great character from one of the best movies ever.

I'm half in the bag, and will have to think about this one more, but one of the first that popped in my head was Matt Modine in Full Metal Jacket.

I have to agree with Igy on the Val Kilmer/Doc Holliday tip. Dude was ice cold.

Staying with Westerns, Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven was a bad shutyomouth. Hackman was pretty good too.
Edited with the actual quotes:

QuoteLittle Bill Daggett: Well, sir, you are a cowardly son of a bitch! You just shot an unarmed man!
Will Munny: Well, he should have armed himself if he's going to decorate his saloon with my friend.

QuoteLittle Bill Daggett: You'd be William Munny out of Missouri. Killer of women and children.
Will Munny: That's right. I've killed women and children. I've killed just about everything that walks or crawled at one time or another. And I'm here to kill you, Little Bill, for what you did to Ned.

QuoteWill Munny: All right, I'm coming out. Any man I see out there, I'm gonna shoot him. Any sumbitch takes a shot at me, I'm not only gonna kill him, but I'm gonna kill his wife, all his friends, and burn his damn house down.

I'd have to think a while to see what comes to me as far as favorite charecters go but because Full Metal Jacket was already mentioned the drill sargent makes that freaking movie. The first half of that movie is gold.

I think one of the best charecters to carry a franchise has to be Indiana Jones. I hope the new one they're making doesn't suck.

I like a crazy Jack Nicholsen charecter like his role in the Shining or One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Andy from Shawshank Redemption. Or maybe it's just a great movie I'm attached too.

Of course Sherrif Buford T. Justice is crazy funny from Smokey and the Bandit but that's a guilty pleasure of mine.

Scarface. Say Hello to my Little Friend is crazily over quoted.

Adam West as Batman.... Awesome!

That's all I can think of right now...

The one the first comes to mind to me is James Bond - particularly Sean Connery's portrayal (though I really enjoyed Daniel Craig's first run).

But I'm a James Bond nerd like SD is with Star Wars.
