Cole Hamels surrendered a pair of homers to Carlos Beltran, but he was hurt most by the five walks he allowed

Two of the three runs he gave up were solo shots to Beltran.  Yet somehow the hack who wrote that saw the five walks as the problem?

Hurts my head.


PS: I don't understand why Cholly keeps putting Geary into close games.  When they have a big lead he pitches fine.  When it's tight, he gets ripped like he did last night.  It's just infuriating how many games that ignorant hillbilly gives away because of not understanding his staff and their tendencies..

Romey...who else does he have? They ALL have been getting ripped. Put Madson in and the same thing happens. Zagurski, Sanches, Mesa? Romero looked half decent but he still loaded 'em up before getting out of it.

What they need to do is tread water until the all-star break, then get Myers and Gordon back to solidify the bullpen. With that, they must trade for another starter. Matt Morris, Mark Beurhle, whoever the farg. They have no shot of doing anything to begin with, and even less of a shot if they run JA Haap out there every 5th day.

Also, Mike Bourn looks pretty good. He needs to be playing against rhp.
