no they didnt....exact same eligibility its just that they did the normal four years in four years instead of four years in five years which is what normally happens when you transfer

i agree with a lot of what you are saying, but when you transfer you lose a year of eligibility, not postpone it

the only way you don't lose the eligibility is if you are able to redshirt during the year you sit out, otherwise you lose the eligbility

d1a basketball and football must sit out a year if transferring...if you transfer as a junior when you begin at your new school you will still be a junior but you will have had to sit out a year to do it

all other d1a sports to my knowledge are allowed to transfer without even having to sit out a year and of course dont lose any eligibility either

you can also avoid having to sit out a year if youre a d1a player and you transferr to a lower division...ala logan el who went from 1a psu to 1aa towson..he will be playign for towson next year as a freshman

If you are transferring to the same level or up, you lose a full year of eligibility from the NCAA. For example, Sam Keller came to Nebraska this past fall after transferring from Arizona State. He would have been a junior last fall and would have been able to play two more years if he had been at ASU. But since he transferred he had to sit out a year of competition, but was able to still practice with the team. He will be able to compete with the team this fall as a senior and this will be his last year of collegiate athletics.

actually keller was one of the seniors who did transfer

he played three years at asu then last august transferred to nebraska...had to sit out last year and will play for nebraska as a senior this year
