Hancock was twice the legal limit

Cardinals relief pitcher Josh Hancock was legally drunk last Sunday when he plowed his car into the back of a tow truck parked on Highway 40, officials announced this morning. He also was talking on a cell phone at the time he crashed.

Hancock -- who died instantly of a severe head injury after the crash -- had a blood alcohol level of 0.157 percent, more than the legal driving limit of 0.08 percent, according to Dr. Michael Graham, the St. Louis medical examiner. Police Chief Joe Mokwa said 8.55 grams of marijuana were found in Hancock's car.

Also, he died of "severe head injury", which unofficially has been recognized as a decap.

That isn't what I was referring to. Its the yearly charade where he sits out a few months and then decides he wants to play and for whom and then dictates the conditions.

i'm with you....

but on the other hand, you gotta admire the gig he has.  gets to miss spring training, get to miss pitching in the cold, wait and see who will pay him/who can win a title.  it's the best job on earth right now, i'm thinking.
