I think they can help their defense more by running the ball like they did with Garcia than any one player they could have gotten at 36. At least that's the positive spin I'm trying to put on it.

I'm not familiar with Hunt's college career, but from his draft description, I'm hopeful he'll be the power back the Eagles sorely need to close out a game.  Instead of having swing passes to BWest posing as a running game during leads in the 4th quarter, they may actually be able to rest Donovan and BWest by pounding it with Tony...

First thing I thought of when reading Tony Hunt's bio was Leroy Hoard:

Hey. With them drafting Ilaoa I can see Hunt being a FB and Ilaoa the change of pace. Not sure Ilaoa would fit as a FB, but I think Hunt would.

I can agree to an extent, but they NEED a big back that's not held together by paper clips and chewed bubble gum.

For the role they need him to fill, Hunt doesn't need top end speed. He needs to be able to pick up two yards on 3rd and 1. If he can do that on a regular basis I don't care if he can't break a long one, that's not what they need him for.

His name was Thomas Tapeh.  And even though he ain't that great, the defense was a farging mess.  They needed more attention.

the defense is not a mess...it just needs more fast balls so JJ can really mix it up.

too bad every team has pretty much figured him out and our defense is only effective when the team we play makes a mistake.

yeah, the quality of that vid was not so good, but I have to agree that Hunt don't look so slow to me either.  I likey him lower shoulder into defender too
