watch the eagles go for something we least expect and draft a long snapper or something.

BC,

who can we expect to see go on Saturday from Boston College?  How good are those two O linemen?

James Marten projects as a RT in the NFL and Josh Beekman can play any of the interior line positions.  Beekman will be an absolute stud in the NFL IMO, although I'm not as sold on Marten.  Both should go in the third round, maybe late second (Beekman was considered a possible late first round pick but slipped due to his performance at the combine, Marten was originally a second-day guy and moved up).  Marten played LT, LG, and RG at various times at BC, so he could end up as a utility backup, Artis Hicks type.  I don't want to see the Eagles draft either guy simply because I don't want us to go OL, especially on day one.

A couple guys I like as UDFAs are WR Tony Gonzalez and S Ryan Glasper.  Glasper is a very good athlete and a great locker room guy, he can play either safety position and spent most of last year recovering from an injury, apparently scouts told him that if he'd redshirted and entered the draft next year he'd have been a first-day pick.  Gonzalez is a very tough kid, kind of reminds me of Freddie Mitchell in his style of play but is a very quiet, humble kid so he obviously isn't FredEx off the field.  Neither guy is a draft-quality player, but I wouldn't mind seeing the Birds pick up either one as a UDFA.

Our draft class next year will be huge, could have 6-7 guys or even more go.  I like DT BJ Raji (poor man's Haloti Ngata), LB JoLonn Dunbar (plays MIKE in college but probably projects to WIL in the NFL), S Jamie Silva (not a very athletic kid but incredibly hard worker and hits like a truck, he's going to be a special teams ace for a while), and CB DeJuan Tribble (great cover corner and PR) for the Eagles.  Also Matt Ryan if McNabb pulls a Culpepper.

i want them to go Defense in the first round, possibly all of DAY 1 (since i do not think our offense is that horrible), but i do not really want a DE in the first round. if all the top rated safeties and or LBs are somehow magically gone then I guess a DE/DT would be fine.

any talk of the eagles moving up or down?

I could also see them moving back if the opportunity presented itself. If not, I think they will be active moving up in the later rounds to get guys they want (Chris Gocongs, Matt McCoys, of the world). A later round target I really like is Anthony Waters,  the ILB out of Clemson (see avatar). Dude had an injury (torn ACL) just like Michael Bush in the first game of the season.  If had come out last year and forgone his senior year, he was projected as a first day pick. He could go as low as late five this year.

At least he's not Pinkston.

I agree.  If one of the good safeties are there, I think that should be a priority.

If not, they should draft BPA from any of these positions: DE, LB, or TE.  If a CB is still there that really sticks out, MAYBE.

I love Waters as well.  I'd like to trade down out of the 3rd and into the 4th to get him, but I like him enough that I'd reach for him in the 3rd if we can't move down.

Short, undersized, unathletic DT with almost no ability to rush the passer?

Oh yeah... guaranteed he's an Eagle.
