FWIW, from the EMB:

Walker was on WIP and he said he wanted more money and the FO was unwilling to give him a raise from his $1.8M salary. He apparently said the negotiations were getting ugly.

I want more money!

No.

I said I want more money or I'm gonna cause shtein in the locker room, motherfarger!

Hazel, get Marv Levy on the line...

given what we know so far, darwin.

patterson has the line on overtaking him, but we haven't seen enough to say he won't improve and avoid that dubious honor

i agree except for the extension he got...that might put him over the top

the extension is why he's got a line on the title...his relative inexperience in comparison to the veteran and possible upside are the only think in between

ask again next year and I'll answer differently if he's still the same ol' Patterson

QB Eagles

ESPN's got a story on Walker... apparently he asked to be traded. Sounds like a win-win situation.

GangGreen4Eva

I was one who wanted them to make the move for Brigg's, who is much younger than Spikes, but not for what the bear's apparently want for him. He may be a really good young LB, but playing in Urlacher's hip pocket, might make a pro bowler out of almost any outside backer.
The Eagles had a Walker move planned for a while now. Signing Reagor purposely meant the end for #97, being as he wanted to re-do his deal. They wouldn't give in, and now he is GONE....SEE YA!

TKO is a HUGE upgrade to that bow tie, air banjo playin, no makin plays fool, Dhani Jones...
Used to make me sick to see him get run on all day with the bird's down 20 points, then have the nerve to make a tackle after a 2 yard gain in the 4th quarter, only to jump up and strum his banjo or whatever...That's ALMOST as sickening as watching D Walk and Patterson get abused and pushed in to Trotter's lap. Two games againt the Saints, and against both Jacksonville and the Colts.

I feel bad for Trott, having to play behind this small D-line. If they would only put some BEEF on that D-line, the Eagles' defense would be real tough, period! Look at Ray Lew after they lost those huge DT's in front of him.....he wasn't all that impressive until they drafted Ngota. I saw the film breakdowns...Trott was generally in his gaps, only to have Dhani over run the pursuit on the cutbacks.  Bunkley is a start, but I wanted  Robaire Smith, who can play both DT and DE at 328 lbs. The Browns were smart enough to sign him.

CSN reported that the Eagles got rid of him because he was devoting too much time to his off-the-field business matters instead of concentrating on football, and according to Walker's brother, Darwin makes more money with the business than he does in the NFL...

PE.com interview from 2005

QuotePE.com: Off the field, you work for a civil engineering firm. What is it like being more than just a football player?

DW: "It's huge for me. One of the great advantages is being a business owner and a business person, I really have a good feel for the business end of the NFL because I've been here for six years. I've realized that the business end is so important because when you can to terms with how the Eagles front office is trying to handle their business, then you understand why they make some of the decisions they make.

General_Failure

This season is going to be great when they've got Spikes, Trotter, and Jones out there to start every game. :yay
