I don't think this guy waved his butter joint at anyone in public.

Do we have some confirmation on that $4 million guaranteed first-year number? All I know is that his own agent said he "stands to make" that much.

Birds lose Stallworth, sign Cowboy to offer sheet
By Bob Brookover
Inquirer Staff Writer

Linebacker Ryan Fowler will make more money next season than Donté Stallworth, and - unlike Stallworth - he's going to get it from the Eagles.

Brutal.

That's a sad list of RBs at the end of that story too, especially since the leading candidate at this point has gotta be the last name in that list.

unlike most people i really could care less who the back up RB is...i just dont think the team will win more games because corey dillon is the #2 back vs buck or chris brown or ron dayne or....

dont get me wrong id rather have brown than buck for example but that position is way down the list of concerns i have for this team

Backup RB doesn't matter comparitively - I agree.  The defense was the biggest concern, and here's the movement, both definite and probable, the Eagles have so far:

DL:
+Jevon Kearse (since they lost him very early last season)
Also, they're "banking" on Bunkley being a player.

LB:
-Shawn Barber (they could probably bring him back if they want to)
+Ryan Fowler (big body, quality special teamer, reports would seem to indicate he's good against the run but a liability against the pass)

DB:
-Michael Lewis
-Roderick Hood
But, William James didn't join the team until after camp last year and battled injuries.  He seems to think he can win a starting job if he's healthy.  Sure.

Let's just say that's not going to be enough.  They need at least a couple more key moves before the draft.

Let's just say that's not going to be enough

understatement of the year

its laughable to me that a player who couldnt even get on the field last year is going to single handedly solidify an entire position...should bunkley be better than last year...how could he not be?...is he going to be a good player...probably not...were he a great rookie i would have no problem thinking he was gonna take it to the next level and possibly become an elite player this year...but to go from awful to a savior at the Dt position is ridiculous

I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Rome

Wouldn't that make Fowler their highest paid linebacker next year?

Considering how easy it is to put a "poison pill" into the contract, I find this hard to believe.  I really don't care either way if they do match it.

ice grillin you

i dont think theyll match either...but he said it so matter of factly...not like "remember dallas could still match"...or even "i think dallas will match"

I don't know about that. :)

"When he was playing Little League baseball he kept missing the ball when he was at bat," explained Fowler's mother, Soraya Fowler. "I called him over to talk with him and put my hands up and he put his hands on mine, and I told him to visualize hitting a home run. When he batted the next time he hit a home run. The entire team then wanted to touch my hands. I was able to do this with him prior to most every game, but when I wasn't there I would draw my hands on a piece of paper for him to place his hands on."

"We still do it even though my mom has moved to Colorado," said Fowler. "I call her the night before a game and we set up a time when she is going to face the east and I'm going to face the west and we put our hands up. I leave my hands up for a minute or a minute-and-a-half and we picture good things happening and she prays for me. I'm not sure if it works or not, but I'm never going to stop doing it."
