On a side note, for those that saw 300, did anyone see the Spiderman previews? Man that movie looks so awesome. I loved the first 2 and I expect the 3rd to be nothing less than equally as good.

After seeing Departed though I wouldn't rate it in the top 5 gangter movies ever made.

It was good but as good as these? Not really.

There.  Now it's in the top 5.  Casino's close, but no.  Pulp Fiction isn't really a "gangter" (sic) movie.


Anyway, just watched "Snakes on a Plane" - it was everything I'd hoped it would be... awful, hilarious, bloody, and great.  Seriously, it's just good entertainment.  Watch it.  1/5 on a snob scale, and 4.5/5 on a fun b-movie scale.

Just see it.

yea the preview was awesome. the 1st movie was good, the 2nd movie i though was horrible. i have no need really to see the 3rd because the 2nd was that bad. the only reason i want to see it is Venom. thats the first preview/trailor i saw of his character. and it looked awesome! i just hope they do his character justice. i want to see spiderman get his ass beat all movie.

Watched The Illusionist last night. The ending was completely predictable but I didn't feel like the story relied on the 'twist' to carry it, so that didn't bother me that much. Norton was good. Giamatti was fantastic. Even Biel was very good. Very well acted, REALLY well directed. Not the best movie I've seen but very good none the less. 7.5/10

the illusionist was like like a tv movie version of the prestige

watched shut up and sing last night...very good documentary by the same lady that did harlan country usa (which is one of the best docs ever made)

as for 300 never underestimate the power of the nerds...theres even a chance i could lose the second bet...tho i dont think i will....farging geeks

I couldn't sleep last night so I was flipping through the channels and came across V For Vendetta.

I enjoyed it thoroughly again.

BTW: IGY... $70M in ticket sales means more than geeks saw that movie this weekend.  A lot more.

I do think the fact that the studio put out more advertisments in smart places like Myspace made a huge difference.  Easily the most advertising since Snakes on a Plane, and it paid off 300.
