-- Liked the Cardinals and Saints visits but thought he'd get more playing time in Arizona...likes Whisenhunt, Leinart and Edge and sees improvement with the OL and DL, so he wanted to be a part of the Cardinals as they got better.
-- Says he's penciled in as a starter but will battle in training camp.
-- Thinks his injuries contributed to him not being re-signed by the Eagles...thinks it's the same reason why Stallworth wasn't re-signed.
-- Says the Eagles did make an offer but he didn't want to be a nickelback anymore....wanted more playing time.
-- He and a few other players on the defense think Michael Lewis was made a scapegoat for the defensive problems.

Simoneau was a key piece of the deal to get Stallworth.  Clearly, the Eagles are planning to build up Fowler's value just enough so that they can trade him for help at WR.

The Eagles have signed Cowboys linebacker Ryan Fowler to a restricted free agent offer sheet, Fowler's agent, Alan Herman, told the Daily News today.

Herman said Fowler stands to make $4 million in the first season of the 4-year deal, which he said would ultimately pay about $10.5 million. Since Fowler is stuck behind middle linebacker Bradie James in Dallas, Herman said he doubts the Cowboys will match the offer.

So he stands to make $400,000 more than Stallworth does this year?

He would have struggeld to make this roster with a new coach and some new LB's from the draft. He has the oppourtunity to be a starter on a team with horrible linebackers.

Word on the Philly board is that Fowler will be paid 4 million this year and that its a 4 year 10.5 million dollar deal. Makes me wonder why Philly is willing to pay Fowler more this year than New England is paying to Stallworth ( 3.6 million ). I dont see us matching this offer to Fowler and i think we can fill his loss by either signing a veteran like Randall Godfrety to a short term deal or a rookie on day two of the draft like Zac Deossie ( son of former cowboys LB Steve Deossie ).

If the 10.5million/4 years is true, they can have him! WTF are they doing giving Fowler 4 million dollars in their first year. That's crazy...

If he does start for Philly, that could be good news for us. Just do a playaction all day, and we'll catch fowler out of position 90% of the time!!

Reid again taking a big chance. If this guy doesn't end up starting and making some sort of impact, how do you justify that kind of money after letting Stallworth walk? Wait, I know, he's a great person and hard worker, and Reids great coaching and J.J.'s defense will make him a pro-bowler......yeah. I know he's pretty big at 6'3" and 250, but from reading about him more it seems like he's a slow Trotter. Out of position a lot. But still, if he can stuff the run he might help.

After putting down 10 mil for this guy, forget drafting any kind of linebacker like Lawrence Timmons or Patrick Willis. Probably wasn't going to happen anyway, but there was still hope.
