Anyone seen a good movie lately?

"The Prestige"

This is a very interesting movie with some fantastic acting.  Scarlett Johansson's talent is practically completely wasted, but Jackman, Bale, and Caine are all quite good.  The story takes some downright interesting twists and turns, and until the very end, you really aren't sure of the true protagonist.  I think it was easily one of the top 3 movies of 2006 and certainly better than "The Illusionist", which was decent in its own right.

Solid 4+/5.

Couldn't agree more. My review back when I saw it in theaters was pretty much the same.


Casino Royale:

Liked it a lot. Craig is a great bond. I thought he was perfect for the role. I never thought Eva Green was hot until this movie. Maybe it was that dark british accent and look about her. Good action, pretty good plot. Enjoyed it a lot.

I cheated myself on that one.  I started watching it late at night, so I only saw about 40 minutes of it.  Then I watched the second third on another late night, and finally the last 25 minutes or so on my computer in my office.  I knew it was good, but I never got the whole effect.  Maybe I should watch it again from start to finish.

BlueHeart has officially fallen below IGY on the movie review respect-o-meter.  It's not that this movie was awful, but it's certainly nothing brilliant, even if you are a huge "80's hair band" fan.  It's largely unfunny, and at least 80% of the laughs are in the previews.  I've seen worse, but mostly... I've seen the same general brand of crap, even if less musical.

I will certainly say Tenacious D was brilliant.  Movie was farging hilarious.   A lot of the stuff only a metal head would appreciate anyway, so forgive FF and his Dave Mathews tshirts.
