I don't care what Meachem might do at some point in time.

I do care that Stallworth has proven to make a huge difference in the offense.

Munson

And that 2-4% glimmer of hope that the Eagles would resign him started walking out the door when the 6-40-18 SB demand became public. So you're either looking at Reggie Brown and Hank Baskett/Jason Avant, or you could possibly have Reggie Brown and Meachem.

Take your pick. Unless the Eagles defy all rules of thier usual MO and spend out the ass and more for a guy, Stallworth won't be here next year.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

It doesn't matter if they draft a WR this year or not... it will still be Brown/Baskett/Avant/Lewis in some combination as the 1/2/3/4 unless a miracle happens and they re-sign Stallworth... or more likely, they sign some other B-level filler WR to "get in the mix and compete".

None of this changes that they have plenty of money to retain the services of Stallworth if they so choose.  Hell, they could spend every draft pick except 1 (3rd QB) on defense and sign at least a couple of available guys to patch up the D... because the offense has everything it needs.

Probably won't happen, but it should.

Munson

Wrong. IF they spend that kind of money on Stallworth, they won't have enough cash to sign guys to defense. Mikell and Thomas would be gone, meaning the Eagles would need 2 rookie safety's, and another rookie DE or two depending on how much faith you want to put in Kearse' knee, and go with Gaither-Trotter-Jones/Gocong at LB.

Maybe they'd still have enough cash left over to keep Will Peterson as the #3 CB, but that's about it. This defense has enough holes, lets not create bottomless pits behind them on the depth chart.

If the Eagles don't resign Stallworth, I'd like them to draft Meachem in the first round. Unless he 's another Moats and is as dumb as arock when it comes to learning an NFL playbook, he'd end up starting ahead of Baskett and Avant. If Baskett can contribute as a rookie, Meachem can.

I don't care if they resign Stallworth or not, if they draft a WR in the first round I will farging destroy something. They need defense, not some douchebag WR in the first round who has 70% chance of being a complete bust.

So both of you, shut the farg up.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

It doesn't matter who they get in round 1, because he'll be a spectacular bust.

BigEd76

Patrick Willis = 4.51
Poz = 4.69

ouch

If they signed Stallworth and then drafted a WR in the first round, then I'd destory something. If Stallworth is gone and they draft a WR in the first, I won't be too pissed off.

That's faster than I would have expected Poz to run.

Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Munson

Looks like the only chance they'll have at getting some who can contribute to the defense this year will be if they trade up.

I'll take Meachem please.

Meacham isn't going to be a #1 WR IMO. I'd take Jarrett is a second over him. Everyone is down on Jarrett all of a sudden after running a 4.7. He was every bit as good as Calvin Johnson this college season. He is a stud. He has great cuts and uses his body really well. Great hands too. Not to mention is is 6'5.

The last thing the Eagles need is another slower big guy. Without Stallworth, they will need someone with speed.

Not to mention that Jarrett won't be there when the Eagles pick...Meachem most likely will be. I think he's projected to go right before the Eagles pick actually, but throw the Jets a bone or somethin and get him.

He's also listed at 6'3-6'4, 214 pounds, and ran a 4.39.

Unless he shares a brain with Ryan Moats...yes please.
