Meecham doesnt do anything for me.  I'd much rather have Stallworth.  Same school, Donte is faster, similar injury historys.

it would be unimaginable for the eagles let stallworth walk and then draft meecham...meecham IS stallworth but unproven...

and a lot cheaper....... hmmmmmmmmmm sound like something Joe Banner would like ?

Bingo.

NGM

I heard on ESPN radio today that Meecham looked really out of shape.  I'm beginning to doubt that if he ran a 4.3whatever.

i saw it live...and i saw him in other drills and he looked pretty damn good to me...he was by far the best and smoothest in the drill where they run the width of the field while getting balls fired at them along the way
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

The BIGSTUD

Meacham and Bowe looked pretty damn good.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Munson

Well then what the hell. Draft him. Yeah it'd be retarded to let a proven guy like Stallworth walk only to draft a player just like him but unproven. But Meachem does have 2-3 inches on Donte if I'm not mistaken....a bigger guy with that kind of speed?

He and Reggie would make a good combination.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

rjs246

Rookies always contribute so much in this offense.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

ice grillin you

in no way am i saying draft him...just was stating that i watched him run that 40....why the hell would you let stallworth go then draft a wr....thats lunacy

Let me put it to you the way the Eagles FO would...

Stallworth=6 years, 40 million, 18 Million SB
Meachem=Not 6 years, 40 million, 18 million SB

I want Stallworth back very badly, but even I wouldn't throw that much cash at a guy who's game is speed when he has chronic hamstring problems. shtein, even if the hamstring wasn't a constant problem, I still wouldn't pay him that much. Rosenhaus is taking advantage of the inflated cap numbers this year...and for once, the Eagles don't have that kinda dough.

They have plenty of money.  They could and should consider cutting guys like McDougle & Dhani Jones, among others, to make a significant amount of cap room available.

Don't let the cap situation fool you.  They could sign Stallworth easily.

Munson

Yes, cutting dhani and Jerome would be good first steps to clearing some room...but then they'd have to get guys like Kearse to restructure, etc....I just don't see them being able to do it. They still have to leave aset amount aside for the draft, and I'd like them to keep guys like J. THomas and Mikell. THe last thing they need is holes behind the holes on defense.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Right.  It's much more important to sign Juqua and Mikell for the defense than to have a speed WR in an offense that throws 55 60 65 percent of the time and has a QB known for arm strength and not pinpoint accuracy.

They have PLENTY of cap room to get it all done anyway, if they really wanted to.

SunMo

yup, they just don't want to

in fact, they had a built in excuse with the cap room rumor that is running wild, but Heckert took that out of the picture, which is weird.

I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

and?!?!

the big money gets you a #1 wr
the lesser money gets you a player who might never start in the nfl

In most years, 10-12 mil in cap space would be more then enough.

In a year where other teams are looking at 25-30 million....10-12 million is looking like peanuts.

There's no way the Eagles will throw out 40 mil plus an 18 million signing bonus. 58 million for Stallworth...how much was TO's total contract worth?

IGY, you honestly believe Meachem doesn't have the size, speed, and talent to start in the NFL at SOME point in his career?? My only question on bringing him here would be is he smart enough to learn the offense. If not, he'd benefit from going somwhere with a much simpiler scheme.
