Wingpan is wrong, by the way.  the only diff. between scotch and irish whiskey is where it's from.  now, there is a lot of difference between the grain grown in ireland and in scotland, etc...but whisky is whiskey is whiskey.  they spell it different, and get pissy about it, but farg them.

Sorry, wrong. Despite the difference ou pointed out yourself. There are other differences too.

The distilling process is different, as well as the ingredients are prepared differenty. For Scotch Whisky, the barley is dried over a peat fire to add the smoke flavor. Irish Whiskey barley is dried in a sealed oven to keep the barley pure.

Also there is a difference of smoothness. Irish Whiskey is distilled 3 times, Scotch Whisky is distilled twice.

IGY,  give it a try.  I drink JW Red during the week to cut down on beers.  Got my first bottle of Black for Christmas this year, and i've only had one drink out of it.  The 1.75liter of the JW Black is about 62-65 bucks, same size in Red is 29-32 clams depending on what shop.

I bought myself another bottle of 7 for the Super Bowl.  Also, 7UP was $0.77 for a 2-Liter at the grocery store.

I predict all 3 2-Liters and the whole 750ml of 7 will be toast by Monday morning.

Is Seagram's 7 scotch?  No, but it's farging tasty when mixed with a carbonated lemon-lime beverage.

Pretentious snobs sitting around dissecting the differences between Cuban cigars and those made in Honduras can all choke to death on the dicks of AIDS-infested pole squatters.

Same goes for the jagoffs pissing and moaning about 12-year old scotch variants.

Seriously, kill yourselves slowly with razor sharp meat cleavers, the lot of you.

Any drink made with cheap blended whiskey is manly.

It's not an arguement, its a fact.

A better argument would be like distinguishing the differences between a Toyota Camry or a Chevy Malibu. But go ahead, make another snide comment to hide the fact that you were wrong, depsite working in the industry.

If the point is that there is a difference between a Toyota Camry and a Chevy Malibu, then yes I'm wrong.
But that wasn't the subject.  We were discussing the difference between a mid size sedan and a mini van.

If the point is that there is a difference between bud lite and miller lite, then yes I'm wrong.
But that wasn't the subject.  We were discussing the difference between lite mass beer and stouts.

to vigy and 95% of the world, the distinctions you make are trivial....for whiskey snobs alone.  scotch whiskey is a whiskey.  just as irish whiskey is a whiskey, etc.

You guys can bitch all you want about cigars or scotch and associate them with Romes.  Thats pretty damn funny, because real men have been enjoying both for hundreds of years. You peions can consume all the malt liquor and garcia vega's you want, I'll stick to Talisker and Fuentes'.
