=============================================================================================================

Detroit has a 3-game lead in the strength-of-schedule battle for the #1 pick.  If Dallas wins and the Jets lose, it will be down to a 2-game lead...

No effect on #1 pick battle
NY Giants at Washington
Carolina at New Orleans

Adds 2-2 no matter what and cancels out
Green Bay at Chicago = adds 2-2 to Detroit
Cleveland at Houston = adds 1-1 to Oakland
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati = adds 1-1 to Oakland

Each team played the Jets and Seahawks once, so they cancel out
Oakland at NY Jets
Seattle at Tampa Bay

Adds 1-1 to Detroit no matter what
St. Louis at Minnesota

Adds 1-1 to Oakland no matter what
Arizona at San Diego
San Francisco at Denver

Games that affect the #1 pick battle
Detroit at Dallas = Dallas result adds 1 to Detroit
Atlanta at Philadelphia = Atlanta result adds 1 to Detroit
Miami at Indianapolis = Miami result adds 1 to Detroit
New England at Tennessee = New England result adds 1 to Detroit

Jacksonville at Kansas City = Kansas City result adds 2 to Oakland

Buffalo at Baltimore = Buffalo result adds 1 to Detroit, Baltimore result adds 1 to Oakland
St. Louis at Minnesota = Minnesota result adds extra 1 to Detroit, St. Louis result adds 1 to Oakland
Arizona at San Diego = Arizona result adds 1 to Detroit, San Diego result adds extra 1 to Oakland
San Francisco at Denver = San Francisco result adds 1 to Detroit, Denver result adds  extra 1 to Oakland

Washington beat HOU. Doesn't that break the tie?

head-to-head isn't used in determining draft order

MDS

You are spending way too much time breakdowing which incompetent team will farg up the #1 pick.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Question--how would the Eagles NOT get in now?  I think they'd hold tiebreakers over all the other teams "competing" for the last spot?

ALL of the following must happen:

EAGLES lose at Dallas
EAGLES lose vs Atlanta
Giants win at Washington
Panthers lose at New Orleans
Packers lose at Chicago
Rams lose at Minnesota

That's laughable.

It's funny and pathetic at the same time.  If the Eagles get stuck in a tie with only the Giants and Falcons, they're screwed....but if anyone else also ends up 8-8, the tiebreaking system changes and lets us in...

from the NYT recap of the Giants game

QuoteThe Giants did not take a snap in Saints territory; the Saints took 65 on the Giants' side of the 50-yard line. The Giants were 0 of 10 on third-down conversions. The Giants' offense had season lows in plays (45), yards (142), first downs (6) and time of possession (19 minutes 26 seconds), which gave the game a feel of a cruel schoolyard keep-away contest.

so I won all my bets except one, and the Eagles are almost certain to get in the playoffs.

Merry Christmas to Father Demon.   :yay

Did anyone see Vernon Davis get just killed? One of the best hits this season.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.

QuoteYesterday was the Giants' worst regular-season loss at Giants Stadium since a 50-21 defeat to the taterskins on Sept. 19, 1999.... The Giants' 59 net passing yards were their lowest total since they had 48 on Dec. 15, 1996, also against New Orleans.

Eli would have been better off being the Manning brother that didn't even play football.

OK, some of the stats were not great but it would have been nice to see an Eagle (Garcia) win honors this week...
