I might edit this topic and call it the Official 2007 Eagles offseason topic.

Something like I just wrote would be better.

say what you want about McNabb and the offense, but it's the same issue as last year, this defense sucks.  they probably have the worst linebackers on the planet, Trotter's done, McCoy is mediocre, and Jones, well you know.  the defense had a chance to step up and win the game today and they failed miserably, besides giving up a run to Henry where he maybe got touched once, they also left 14 points on the field that would've changed the momentum of the game.

stupid coach....check
wideouts who drop the ball...check
terrible linebackers...check
overrated secondary...check

I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

The BIGSTUD

You said it very well. Considering how bad this defense was last year, they have 3 new defensive starters, one being Considine who only started for about half of these games this season. The others Howard and McCoy.

McCoy was a lateral move from Adams, and at BEST a minor minor upgrade. Howard was a huge upgrade at the start of the season, but with Kearse out, it is a downgrade from last season. Kearse and Cole>Howard and Cole.

The same two DTs are starting this season as last season, unless you want to count Hollis Thomas who's playing time dwindled as the season came to a close.

A defense which SUCKED last season pretty much is completely the same, and they want to sell us Matt McCoy and Shawn Barber. Get a reality check please. Walker has sucked for 2/3 years now. BACK TO REALITY.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

If someone can find the video of Darwin Walker getting put on his ass like a little kid, I'd like to point and laugh at that until he gets cut please.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

No. McCoy may not be setting the world on fire and is a liability against the run, but he has 2 PD, 3 FF and like 5 TFL. That's 10 more plays than Adams had last year. Adams did nothing all year.

True. He'd stand out more with 1. Not having Darwin Walker "Cow-Tipped" as someone put it in another thread, 2. At least one bigger tackle in there to help stuff the run 3. Better LB's around him. Trotter just...doesn't have it like he used to.

Just look at game tapes from every game since Dallas and you'll have plenty of identical plays to that.

Yeah, but the one today was just too funny for words. Looks like another first round pick on a DT this year. At least we'll have 3 young guys in the middle for the next few years.

ice grillin you

McCoy wishes he was mediocre

there ya go

he friggin blows

the linebackers are an abomination

ive said it before ill say it again...if you dont have a big strong good d line then you better have beasts for linebackers...if you dont have beasts at lb then you best have a dominant line...the eagles have neither

the front seven is disaster....hope they are happy with patterson stealing money for the next decade
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

It's amazing how much of a difference Jevon Kearse makes too, especially with the pass rush. Ever since he went down, Cole has been eating the double teams, and we've been pass rush-less.

Yeah but during the first two games he was owning guys. Having Darren Howard plus Trent Cole coming in fresh on 3rd downs really opened up things for Kearse, and his numbers were beggining to show it. The best part was going to be that once teams started concentrating on Kearse, Cole and Howard were probably going to have a field day.

Even if he didn't put up the numbers he should ahve, just having him on teh line would ahve been distraction enough.

with kearse the teams record is the same

stop trying to find weak excuses for this franchise...its a problem that runs far deeper....a universal change is needed

you cant get embarassed by inferior teams time and time again and stay the course

start the revolution

oh i wasn't trying to excuse the terrible play of this team, I was just saying. Having Kearse would have at least helped the way this defensive line has palyed, which in turn would make the LB's look a little bit better. More pressure+more sacks may have sent one or two things our way this year, maybe we're a game or two better. That being said, the team has played like shtein this year, especially after the Cowboys game.

Edit: I forgot to mention the terrible coaching and playcalling this year, from both sides of the ball. JJ's blitzes are working again, but he's still not using them enough. He has learned that the freaking zone coverage isn't working though, I gotta give him credit for that. He's been more man coverage the last couple weeks.

Yep, and this thread is overdue. Should have come last week when they lost to that juggernaut Tampa team with the rookie QB. Miracle kick or not they had no business losing that game.

Come on, talk like this is embarrassing.  To think as fans of the Eagles you would start such a thread.

No were not the taterskins nor Cowboys and NO we don't laugh when we fall on hard times!
