ike reese on wip yesterday said mcnabb is not a born leader and is coddled by andy...but others have said as much over the years...trotter on his radio show and in the papers.......runyan has intimated it on angelos show many times...of course TO....but even with out all that its obviosu to anyone who follows the team that mcnabb is above reproach when it comes to accountability and mcnabb constantly suckles at andys teet

anyway youre missing the point...i am pro mcnabb...i think he can win a superbowl...just not with a coach that refuses to run the ball or get good wr's yet puts the entire team on the back of a guy who isnt good enough to carry it

SHURMUR THE BEST MAN FOR MSU?

Amid rumors that former 49ers and Lions coach Steve Mariucci is quietly in the mix for the Michigan State job, a league source with no dog in the race (or horse in the hunt) has expressed to us in no uncertain terms that, in his view, Eagles quarterbacks coach Pat Shurmur is the better man for the job.

"This guy deserves the job," the source said.  "It is his dream job."

Shurmur was an All-Big 10 center at Michigan State, and a team captain.  His extensive NFL experience should be very helpful, since we've heard that the Spartans are looking for a guy who will be in a position to demonstrate an ability to get players ready for -- and placed in -- the NFL.
