Not surprising.  Since he got peanuts for his rookie deal as a 5th rounder, he was due more than Patterson in a re-up.  Patterson's solid, but Cole makes more game-changing plays and will make more if for no other reason than he plays DE and not DT.

no one ever questions him when he gushes about a guy in camp, saying he's the best out there...and EVERYONE calls him a straight shooter..."you know he's being honest" and every season, that gushed about player has a terrible year. Simoneau, Jones, McDougle...etc...
