I agree with what you are all saying, but he did put up 21 in basically the 4th quarter.   He did everthing he could at the end to win.  He was not good at all but to put the loss on his shoudlers is ridicullous.

But he was pretty much responsible for the big hole the Eagles found themselves in to begin with.  They were just horrible throws.  He wasn't under heavy pressure, the WR's hadn't run bad routes... he just made zesty throws.

He doesn't have to put all those points up if he doesn't throw 2 TDs to the opposign team. The Bucs had 196 yards of offense and 2 FGs, one a freak 62 yarder but nevertheless it counted. Thats 6 points. Our O-line played a good game, the RBs had holes. There were a few dropped passes but none that were killers. He lost this game, its on his shoulders. You don't expect a veteran QB who should KNOW the Bucs D to make idiotic throws like that.

@ feva

he of course didnt know that two picks would be returned for td's...but he knew that they would most likely pick mcnabb multiple times...and because of that he just needed to keep his team close and in a position to win it at the end...and thats what happened...the fact that the int's he knew they would get got returned for td's was a bonus

That's just it... without those TD's... it's not close. The offense put up 6 points today.

The offense put up 3 points. The kicker bombed an improbably figgie for another 3 and their D put up 14. Their offense sucked except for one long drive.

How again is that the coaches fault? The players, starting with Donovan, and ending with McDougle, lost this game today, not the coaches.

again its not about today...look at the bigger picture....or dont....and stick with your boy reid forever and continue down this same road

reids time is over...he had a nice run in spite of himself...its time to go...but if youd like to keep the status quo until mcnabb retires by all means enjoy....

again this makes no sense. if its not about today then what big picture are u looking at? the one where mcnabb throws INTs and the opposing team hits a 62 yd FG?

this thread is just an excuse to bash reid eventhough he had nothing to do with the loss this week and really even last week. reid didnt have anything really to do with last yr cept if u wanna fault him and the whole organization for bringing in TO.

and dungy better? doesnt he also fall into the same category as reid since he hasnt been able to take the colts further?

i get the feeling a lot of ppl are calling for change for the sake of change whereas the eagles really need to play smarter. even on defense where i am very critical they could play decent if they just stop commiting dumbass penalties.

I dunno, I don't think a 'well-executed' gameplan consists of two INT returns for TD's and relying on 3 FG's, one being a 62 yarder to win it.

"Listen up guys, our gameplan today is to suck really bad, hopefully get two INT returns for touchdowns, and maybe hit a 62 yard field goal at the end to win. Also, I want you to give up 500 yards of total offense, have Westbrook run all over you today, and do absolutely nothing on offense. Hopefully, that McDougle guy will get a sack, get a face mask call, and then kick the flag to put us in FG range, too."

It's pathetic to think that Gruden had a 'well executed game plan' -- any chode thinking that has a perverted outlook of what happened.

The Eagles blew chunks today. They weren't outplayed in the sense that the Bucaneers were the obviously superior team. 4 turnovers and finishing drives cost us. It sure wasn't Gruden devising schemes to put points on the board. Outside the two INT's what were the Bucs able to do to stop the Eagles? It was the Eagles own boneheaded mistakes that cost them the game. Other than the three picks and the fumble, the Eagles were able to move the ball at will. Westbook averaged almost 10 yards a carry.

It was just extremely poor execution when it mattered most. Granted, that is a problem in and of itself, but to attribute the loss to Gruden's 'superior gameplan' is absurd on its face.

Season over. Like I've been saying, next year is the year for a real run at it. Anyone surprised by this team hasn't been paying attention. I'm counting on spending the rest of the year rooting against the taterskins.

The season isn't over.  There are nine more games left for us to watch.

I don't think my heart or fingernails can take much more of this crap.

If you look at the games theyve lost, they are all close games where one lucky bounce could have determined the game.  It sucks for this season but it doesnt mean they have to clean house in the offseason.

Feva

Actually... I'd prefer if all their losses for the rest of the season were blowouts.  Much easier to take.
