Vick Questions Coaches & Teammates

I think that it is the coaching staff to blame. He has some obvious talents, which are running and throwing deep. He has some obvious weaknesses, which are accuracy. His first full year was his best year ever. Then they changed to a west coast offense, which emphasizes, short accurate passes and he has gotten worse every year.
Your first year shouldn't be your best year, but for some reason they try and fit the player to the system and not the other way around.

Also, he's a total icehole and his brother is going to be robbing convenience stores in about 5 years.

Vick said he dreams of one day playing in the Colts offense. Good job supporting your teammates Mike.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

He hopes to one day land a job as their new runningback.

MICHAEL VICK can't seem to make up his mind who he wants to be. One minute the Falcons quarterback wants to be a vertical passer, the next he wants to dink and dunk. One minute he wants to be the ultimate running quarterback, the next he wants to be Joe Namath.

After getting the you-know-what kicked out of him in Sunday's 27-14 loss to the Giants, Vick, who 2 months ago scoffed at Donovan McNabb's preference for the pocket over the open range, now has decided that he too wants to stay behind the line of scrimmage and heave 40 passes a game. Of course, that could change by the time this paper gets to your front door.

Vick, 26, has rushed for 401 yards in the Falcons' first five games. He's averaging 8.7 yards per carry, almost 3 yards more than he's averaging per pass attempt. He's on pace to rush for 1,283 yards, which would blow to smithereens the NFL record for rushing yards in a season by a quarterback (968 by the Bears' Bobby Douglass in 1972).

But it finally has dawned on him that the punishment he's taking might not be conducive to a long and healthy NFL life. Duh!

"If I want to play until I'm 34, 35 years old, then I have to take that into consideration,'' Vick told Cris Carter of HBO's "Inside the NFL'' this week. "I have to protect myself. I've been trying to do that. But Sunday I was sacked seven times and took 24 hits [including eight rushing attempts]. The longevity won't be there if I continue to go at that rate.''

Falcons coach Jim Mora and offensive coordinator Greg Knapp have tried to accommodate Vick at every turn.

They've let him run so much because Vick told them to let Mike be Mike, and well, it's what he does best. He's thrown just 117 passes in five games and is a dismal 28th in the league in passing with a 66.0 efficiency rating and a 50.4 completion percentage.

"It's not hard for me to make plays in the passing game,'' Vick said. "I think some people think I can't make plays [passing], but I can. I want people to recognize me as a complete quarterback. And I feel right now, I am.

"Tom Brady, Peyton [Manning], Donovan... they all throw from the pocket, make the right decisions, do the right things. I'm up there with Peyton and Brady and Donovan. I think I'm there with that group [as a passer]. But I don't feel I get the credit I deserve as far as what I do and the impact I have on my team.''

His claim to fame will end being that he will end up being more of a success than his fargwad brother.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I think you're all forgetting the obvious. His biggest claim to fame will be Ron Mexico and the herp outbreak on his lips.

The man. The myth. The legend.

If the Falcons go out there and get their asses kicked tomorrow... that locker room is going to implode.

They should sign TO just for the hell of it.

QuoteFalcons | Team installs passes that fit Vick

ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reports the Atlanta Falcons have installed "Vick-friendly" passes for QB Michael Vick to use Week 7. The team will use curls, skinny posts and deep passes for the game.

QB Eagles

It's amazing that the Falcons have a coaching staff talented enough to adjust to a new quarterback so quickly. Michael Vick's only been with the team for six seasons; usually it's at least the tenth season before a team starts designing plays that their quarterback can successfully execute.

Well... at least for a week, looks like we all need to shut the farg up about Mr. Mexico's passing.  Not too many times I wish McNabb had Vick's stat line.

Eh.  I'll take McNabb's 1 poor performance over Vick's 5 poor performances prior to today.
