Lloyd Comes Up Empty Again

Wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, who was acquired from San Francisco in the offseason for two draft picks and signed to a long-term contract extension in April, is still looking for his first impact game with the taterskins. Lloyd was held without a catch Sunday and has six catches for 75 yards this season.

Lloyd has yet to catch more than three balls in a game or amass even 50 yards in a game. He was held without a catch for the second time this season and Washington had just 109 passing yards.

"You can't sit there and cry about it and be selfish about it," wide receiver Santana Moss said. "You've got to wait your turn and wait to get that chance. The opportunities today were very slim."

Was dropping the kids off at school this morning and the sportstalk guys here in Atlanta were talking about their NFL picks over the weekend and they talked about the Giants/taterskins game...

One of them said "The Giants ran all over the taterskins in that game. They pointed at Andre Carter and said lets run right at that guy."

Brunell has to be more consistent, the playcalling must improve, the defense has to tackle, and the whole team needs a good kick in the ass to fire them up, but we're right on track.

So, as of today:

Lloyd has less yards in the season than Reggie Brown and Hank Baskett had in the previous game.

And has less yards than Stallworth - and he's missed 2 games.

Even scarier, he has less yards than Lito Sheppard.

I get Romanian driver Gregori. "How much to Jersey City?" I'm told $94. Oh, and I get to pay the toll. $100 even. Oh, and he doesn't know my destination so we have to ask in Jersey. I try to haggle. Apparently this is bad form. He pulls out a book and shows me the flat rate to like everywhere. Sure enough, $94. Hard to argue with the book.

Our favorite little girl Art just took his first cab ride in New York over the weekend, and got raped on the fare at the same time.  What a homo.

That's kind of funny since you have played two of those teams at home and are 1-1 in those games. In the other one Dallas had a 1st and goal to tie the game with less than a minute to go. The other 3 wins were against teams that combined for 10 wins total last year.

The Eagles have been favored in all 5 games and have won 4. None of those 5 teams have a winning record. They have given up 24 points or more in 3 of the 5 games. The Eagles have done exactly what they were expected to do.....except they lost to the Giants.

If you look at the schedule like a golf scorecard the Eagles are sitting at 1 over par with the Giants game being a bogey. Here are the division standings based on this system:

Giants -1 (Eagles win a birdie, underdogs in Indy & Seattle games and favored in Skins)
Cowboys E (Favored in Skins and Titans, underdogs Eagles & Jags)
Eagles +1 (Favored in all games, lost to Giants)
Skins +1 (Favored against Texans, home against Jags, lost on the road to Dallas, Giants, bogey for home loss to Vikings.

So in effect, there are two games so far this season that didn't go according to plan. The Giants-Eagles and Skins-Vikings games. Win a division game on the road and you can start to brag.

brilliant.  it doesn't really matter if you win or lose.

as long as the oddsmakers in vegas pick you to lose, it's still considered a win.

so basically since the texans or oakland won't be favored all year, as long as they win one game, they'll be -1.  that a great golf score!

I didn't bring this up to correct you for the sake of correcting you.  I pointed this out because it just makes Lloyd and the Skins look that much worse.
