He got lucky off the upright in Houston, unlucky off the upright against the Giants, and missed completely on a freaking 39-yarder in San Fran yesterday.  Anyone else concerned that this is going to be a continuing theme all year?

Hey - poke fun all you want... but Akers had issues and injuries last season and has not looked solid so far this season (which is even more frustrating after his stellar pre-season).  Is this a blip on the radar, or a continuing concern?

not worried....mostly because he was outstanding in the preseason...therefore i feel as tho this is a minor rough patch and a couple fg's against green bay will get him back on track

I actually started wondering about this after last week's game.  He hasn't "nailed" one yet this season.  Even the 31(?) yarder he made last week against the Giants just made it through.  The only thing I can think off to really be different in the regular season from preseason was that Neckbeard was still around... holding at least some of the time.  Now I don't know if it's anything off with him and Diggler or what... but if so, I hope that gets fixed sooner rather than later as the season goes on.

Yeah.  I'm kind of stumped now.  Now I'm even more "negadelphian" than IGY?

The only big variable there is Koy vs. Dirk. I think we can only hope that Dirk will improve. After all, how difficult is holding for kicks, right?

Diomedes

Well, there is another variable, though it's already been mentioned.  Pre-season vs. real games.

Pre-season with Koy/Dirk v. Real games with Dirk.  At least the snapper hasn't changed.

He's got himself one of those lingering injuries. What is it, hamstring?

it's been 55 minutes since his last contract extension, and he's feeling a little under appreciated.  he's not going to be awesome again until he's paid higher than the guy that drags wire behind the head coach.
