I really liked it.  I thought all the performances were great, and it was a different type of movie that isn't often seen in theaters these days.
I thought it sucked hard.

Zanshin

Serenity.

Caught it last night on cable.  Never saw the show it was based on, so I had no expectations at all.  That said, I enjoyed it.  It wasn't an award winner...but it was a solid action/sci-fi movie that didn't make me wish I was doing something else.

If you haven't seen the alternate ending and deleted scenes for "Natural Born Killers", you haven't seen it.

Good stuff.

That movie was infuriating.  I wouldn't watch ten seconds of it again.

It was like watching a two hour music video produced by a drugged out, ADD-mad scatterbrain.  Jarring cuts from scene to scene, all the acting so over the top, the colors were loud and clashing...

I hated it.

Oh yeah, that... I thought it was distracting from the point of the film and overly-cut-up, but not infuriating.

In fact, I think you're supposed to be infuriated by it, so you "got it" more than I did.

P.S.  I'm watching Fletch on DVD now.  It's nice to have it.  Sucks for those that can't get it.

I think that was exactly the point of Natural Born Killers. I always felt a good movie can transport your mind into the characters mind, or certain situations to make you feel like your experiencing the same thing.  It was one of those movies where you felt it.  Great movie for that.

I felt aggravated and ridiculed.  It was like the director was laughing at me for suffering through the goddamned thing.  Really, I think it's an awful movie.

I don't know if it's awful, but I now know that it's certainly overrated.

Diomedes

I will say that Downey Jr. was good.  But he's a great actor.  GREAT.  He was the only thing about NBK that I didn't hate.

Following that, I was watching something (I forget what) where it was mentioned that Charlie Chaplin himself entered a Charlie Chaplin lookalike contest... and placed 3rd.  That's funny.

Diomedes

I'll take your Charlie Chaplin tangent and raise you an Ireland reference:

One of the small Irish towns I visited recently, Waterville, was a favorite getaway for Chaplin at the height of his fame.  He was unkown there, and could walk the beach without being molested by fans.  It's a beautiful place.

I'd imagine walking along the beach is only pleasant for maybe 3-4 months of the year, but yeah, I'm sure.
