this was just one of those really flukey games. the giants themselves lost one just a week earlier against the colts, whom they really did outplay.

it happens. don't go putting your head in the oven just yet.

We don't want to put our heads in the oven.  Andy Reid's, perhaps.

ice grillin you

how dare you compare those two games....the giants have forgotten about the colts game...the eagle giant game is already in lore...i know i wont forget about it for a long long time...its certainly going to bug me for the rest of this season

Taking this a little personal, taterskins fan?

And BTW, Cole should be getting his head kicked in for that unbelievably moronic kicking penalty.  Lots of sacks is nice, but that was farging brutal.  Make that douche kicker have a 50 yarder, and there's a reasonable chance that he misses it.  He wasn't exactly lighting it up his last two outings.
Anyone but Reid.

And you know this how?

All he's saying is that they're two games in which the better team came out with the loss.  They probably were better than the Colts in week 1... and we sure as hell were the better team in week 2.

Not really.  They outplayed us for the first half-quarter, the 4th quarter, and OT.  So, no.

ice grillin you

yeah really how are the eagles better....they eagles beat a pathetic houston team and LOST TO THE GIANTS

and whats really funny is you say how the giants are better than the colts who are a superbowl contender in a far superior conference

so the giants are better than the colts and they beat the eagles but the eagles are a better team?...better than the colts and giants??...im interested to see how this formula works where the losing team is always better

anyway my original point is the eagle had a historic loss..people are saying the worst in franchise history...the giants lost a tough game against the colts that they COULD have won...there is no comparison between the two

The difference between the Giant/Colts game and the Eagles/Giants game is that the Giants didn't blow a huge lead late in the game.  The Giants may have played an all around better game than the Colts but they never had a 17 point lead to show for it.

The losers of the Panthers/Bucs and skins/Texans games this weekend will be the best teams in the NFL, then?

you watched the game, they are the better team, there really isn't a way to debate it.  the Giants had a fluke of a 4th quarter and they managed to make some plays and come back and win.  the Eagles are better, and it will be proved in the long run.

Anyone who thinks the Giants won for any other reason than they got a healthy dose of ridiculously good bounces and one terrible missed call (Dawkins' INT) wasn't watching the game. At one point, the total yardage was like 378 for the Eagles and 87 for the Giants. First downs were 21-7 in favor of the Eagles. One farged up fumble recovery for a TD and one stupid fumble by Westbrook changed the aspect of this game. The Manning pass was intercepted by Dawkins in OT and the replay booth missed it. Yes, the defense looked exhausted by the end of the 4th quarter and I lay that totally on Reid's idiotic playcalling (BTW, I am so sick of hearing him blame himself after games...he's been doing it for years and only once in a blue moon does he do something to FIX it, then he inevitably falls back into his same pass only offense a game or 2 later).

The Eagles were still the better team on Sunday. Regardless of outcome.

Dawkins did not have an INT.  The rule is that if there is a "dual" catch, the tie goes to the offense.  Shiancoe never let go of the ball, so it's a completed pass.  For the same reason, Coughlin's challenge earlier in the game could have actually awarded the Eagles a touchdown.

the Eagles will finish, at least, one game better than the Giants when it's all said and done.

The debate I've been seeing, is that Dawkins had both hands on the ball, while Shiancoe only had one, therefore it really wasn't a dual catch.

I refuse to watch the tape of this game to find out either.  :P
