To clarify, I was saying "that makes no sense" to Bunkley78's previous comment.  Regarding the trade, I'm puzzled but not willing to condemn it yet.  I'm hoping it's part of a larger plan.  I'll give the FO the benefit of the doubt in risking OL depth if they bring in LB or RB help.  If they don't, then I'll complain.  You can't wait for that, I'm sure.

QuoteReid, in fact, raved about Cole in a production meeting in his hotel room on the morning of the Baltimore preseason game. Reid likes his feet, his athletic ability and his power. Cole started 40 straight games at New Mexico State at guard and tackle, so he has some experience.

Straight from Spads, so never mind me.  He has the same skill set as Hank, just not proven NFL level.  It makes more sense as a trade now.
Anyone but Reid.

If they do get a running back that can run up the middle I might stomp my cat in the neck from excitement.

i wouldn't have made the trade just out of spite.  i guess thats why i'm not working in the FO.

Do you even really have a cat?

P.S.  I'm not really a fan of this trade, and I didn't even like Fraley as a player.

He strikes me more as an iguana man. Maybe a ferret.

What will your dog pee on then?

It does my heart good to know that someone remembers that story. Kind of hilarious.

esp since we didnt get a back in return.

could have used the depth.

Suggs was released and Green was put on IR.

Who do you want Droughns? Harrison? No way.

This means that Nick Cole is the backup C. And if Jackson, a guy who gets injured at times, goes down they're farged.

Pray that Jamaal stays healthy.

ohh didnt know that. so now we should be able to get suggs.

edit: im going to make a prediction and say we dont pick up another RB at all from here on. i think reid is sold on moats, buck, and westbrook. if anything we might pick up some Oline depth. i doubt we even pick up a LB.

Homer: Is it BATMAN!!??
Marge: No hes a scientist
Homer: Batman is a scientist.
Marge: Its not BATMAN!

Why the hell do people want Suggs? He's more injury prone than Westbrook.

methdeez

Same reason they want Steven Davis. They've heard his name on sportscenter, so he must be good.

Exactly. I think people just want someone other than Buckhalter backing Westbrook up. And I can't say that I blame them.

Reuben Frank says it's a conditional 7th rounder that turns into a 6th based on him starting

QuoteThe Eagles traded Fraley to the Browns for a conditional 2008 seventh-round pick that becomes a sixth-round pick if Fraley, as expected, becomes a starter.

It doesn't sound like much for somebody who started 71 games for the Eagles from 2001 through last year, but Fraley is a free agent after this season, and the Browns anticipate Bentley returning after missing this year with a knee injury suffered on the first day of training camp.

I still don't like it. I liked the safety net of having him there in case Jamaal gets hurt.

I don't like this trade for a couple reasons.

1.  Like many have already said, Fraley provided a proven and inexpensive backup incase something happens to Jackson.

2.  The fact that Cleveland was desperate for a center and was able to get a good one for nothing more than possibly a 6th round pick was a steal for them.  Even if it is for only 1 year.

3.  But the thing I don't like the most about this trade is the fact that the Eagles won't see any return on it for 2 friggin years.

Now maybe the FO has a "bigger plan" for this newly aquired draft pick.  Maybe they will try and use it in a package deal to move up at some point in next years draft.   I simply don't know.  But until they are able to make such a move and looking at this trade at face value there is absolutely nothing about it that I like.
