Rowand needs to pay attention, next time he won't die.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

It's always an event when they play. Always.

Padres and Diamondbacks are losing.  The Phils could be 2nd in the wildcard race after tonight  :yay

I wonder how long Rowand will be out.

Sucks for him, but the production out of CF should improve now.

Hopefully Gillick can pick up a RH outfielder.

Gordon to the DL, retroactive to the last time he pitched (about 10 days ago)

Do I detect a Clay Condry call up?

1. It is nice to see that Pat seems to be taking to his sex change operation well. He's grown some balls. Now let's see if he can keep it up. I would bet that he'll inevitably strike out looking while throwing his bat arm up high and jamming his ass towards the 3B coach with the bases loaded soon.

2. For anyone to say that Rowand is at fault for that allow me to say this...and it is basic baseball. Even Tom Emansky's Baseball Drills teaches this.

The player running in from the OF has veto power on the call. If an INF hears an OF call him off he better give way.

Yeah, you gotta let Rowand catch the ball and throw it into the trash can at home plate.

From ESPN.com's recap of the game:
QuoteRowand said he hit a hole in the outfield while running and didn't see Utley until it was too late.

So, Rowand DIDN'T call off Utley because he didn't see him, and Utley played the ball because he didn't get called off.  It's Rowand's fault in this case, even if you hate the way Utley plays 2nd.
