I believe the Reds only play one team with a winning record as well. Many of the other teams in the Wild Card hunt only play two winning teams. Since virtually the entire National League has a losing record, it's not a remarkable fact that the Phils only have to play one winning team, nor is it a big advantage over the other teams in the league.

Frankly the whole league sucks dick other than the Mets.

This is true, but FWIW, since there's 4 winning teams (NYM, STL, LAD, CIN) and 2 .500 teams (AZ, SD), here's how many games are left with those 6 teams:

Reds = 9 (3 vs Dodgers, 6 vs Padres)
Diamondbacks = 20 (4 vs Cardinals, 6 vs Dodgers, 10 vs Padres)
Padres = 26 (3 vs Cardinals, 7 vs Dodgers, 10 vs Diamondbacks, 6 vs Reds)
PHILLIES = 3 (3 vs Mets)
Rockies = 18 (3 vs Mets, 6 vs Dodgers, 3 vs Diamondbacks, 6 vs Padres)
Astros = 16 (3 vs Mets, 7 vs Cardinals, 6 vs Reds)
Brewers = 10 (7 vs Cardinals, 3 vs Dodgers)
Giants = 22 (3 vs Cardinals, 3 vs Dodgers, 7 vs Reds, 6 vs Diamondbacks, 3 vs Padres)

So the Phillies don't have any advantages to playing a winning team 3 times out of 39 compared to the Padres playing 26 of their remaining 38?

2.5 games out with 39 to play.

I know math was never my strong suit but I'm fairly certain that a team can make up two and a half games with 39 left to play, especially considering the teams they're playing are inferior to those the teams they're chasing will be playing.

When I got out of my truck to go into work Babe Nunez had just made it 10-1.

A few hours later I call down to another Phils fan and ask him what the final score was (he ha a radio on his block) and he says "12-10". I was like you mean 12-1, right? No. 12-10.

Unbelievable.

At least they won.

Michael Barkann has brought the fact that Burrell was the first one out of the dugout after Utley ran out a few nights ago, and Burrell was right behind Utley the whole time.

Give my boy credit phreak he is showing some emotion.

That was farging great.   

Burrell scored on a groundball to the infield and destroyed Blanco at the plate.  Another run scored because of Burrell.

Someone needs to get Rollins a B-12 shot and a bigger bat.   He should talk to Tejada.

Holy shtein Burrell just made an incredible diving play.

Reds put a 4 spot in the 8th and beat Houston 4-3. I'm still scared of Houston, so this isn't too bad.

Burrell hits a double to deep RF that turned into an RBI single for Nunez. 

Man, if Gillick can fix one of the ginormous holes at 3b or CF we are going to the World Series.  Yea  I said it.

Rowand sure is a stupid son of a bitch.  I obviously dont like to see him get hurt but Utley was calling all the way.  I hope the dude is ok.

This is not good.  Our bench is already worse than most in AAA.
