saw buffalo soldiers this weekend....pretty good movie with a great performace from joakim phoenix

Watched 'The Goonies' with the kids. Why are these types of movies always better in your memory. Still wasn't horrible considering that it was so bad it was good I guess.

Mystic River was a well-made, but overhyped and boring throw-the-viewer-off-with-a-not-so-surprising-plot-twist type movie that ended with one of my favorite actresses (laura linney) telling one of my least favorite actors (sean penn) that he was a 'king' for murdering an innocent man who was one of his closest childhood friends.

Clint Eastwood is an awesome director, and the greatest proof of this is that he took a cliched and boring story and turned it into a critically acclaimed and widely liked movie. But it was completely meh to me in just about every way because you knew how it was going to end, and when it got to the end it was utterly unsatisfying. Boo.
