You all will miss him. You'll see.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Lieber's final line:

4 2/3 IP, 13 hits, 9 runs, 9 ER, 3K's 1BB & 3 HR's

Awesome.   :yay

3 K's and only 1 walk!  I'm sure he'll be traded for someone stellar in the next 6 minutes.

The Phillies couldn't get a half-eaten jelly donut for that washed-up hack.

PhillyPhreak54

Only Rheal was traded?

Should've dealt Fultz, Lieberthal, Lieber and Burrell too.

ice grillin you

burrell is untradeable

i wouldnt be surprised if leiber or leiberthal got dealt and it hasnt been announced yet
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

why would Lieberthal be traded? He's a FA after this season, no?  No one wants him or will give ANYTHING remotely worthwhile for him.

Keep Myers, Howard, Utley, Hamels, Rollins & Bourn.

Trade or release everyone else and start over.

And I'm shocked that Aaron Rowand hasn't been dealt.  He hasn't been great in Philly but he'd be a great add-on piece to a puzzle on a contending team.

QuoteLidle blasts Phils
By Todd Zolecki

Cory Lidle, less than 24 hours removed from his Phillies career, chucked a Molotov cocktail into the Phillies clubhousin a teleconference today with New York reporters.

First Billy Wagner.

Now Lidle?

"I'm the kind of player that goes to the field every day expecting to win," Lidle told New York reporters. "Unfortunately, the last few years, I haven't had a clubhouse that expected to win with me. It was almost a coin flip to know if the guys behind me were going to be there to play 100 percent. I know that's not going to be the deal here in New York.

"That's the reason I'm most excited to come over here. I think I'll fit in well and be able to take my game to the next level."

The Phillies traded Lidle and Bobby Abreu to the New York Yankees on Sunday for four minor-leaguers. Lidle went 8-7 with a 4.74 ERA in 21 starts for the Phillies this season. He went 13-11 with a 4.53 ERA in 2005, and 5-2 with a 3.90 ERA in 10 starts with the Phillies in 2004.

"It was a mixture of veterans and young players, and sometimes there were mixed signals," Lidle said. "Sometimes it seemed like winning was all that mattered and sometimes it seemed like winning didn't matter at all. That was the opinion I had. I don't know how true that is.

"A lot of the other guys in that clubhouse didn't all go there with one goal in mind. Everyone liked to win, but they didn't expect to win. I think being with 24 other guys that come to the clubhouse every day and expect to win will raise my level of play."

Too bad one of those questionable hearts/attitudes went with him to New York....  :)

Burrell, Lieberthal, Rollins.  There's your remaining three.  The more guys that leave and speak up, the more obvious it becomes that these guys are the problem...
