Burrell is lackadaisical. He doesn't give a shtein.

mp, you've got a bad case of irrational hatred for Rowand, bro. ;)

mpmcgraw

I honestly dont care if he doesnt give a shtein though.  Obviously he still produces on the field.  Since his contract is ridiculous I would try reworking it into a long term deal (I know) and spread the money around for about 8 million a year.  I doubt Burrell would rework it though.

Yes I do, phreak.  But it seems that as the year goes on my hatred becomes more and more rational.   :D

MDS

What a bunch of losers. I hate this entire organization, outside of Utley and Howard.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Yeah, but the guy is a dog. He strikes out looking more than anyone in MLB. But he's an equal opportunity K'er... I swear to god if I see that go to one knee while diving for the slider in the dirt swing one more time I'm going to kill something. I really like his ooops, let me jump out of the way of this perfect strike to make it look like its inside act.

mpmcgraw

The increase in K's looking has also had a major increase in his OBP.  I am willing to make that trade off.

MDS

How can we honestly survive with that loser Pat Burrell still in LF? Bench his sorry ass.

I agree, he is clearly the problem with this team in the clubhouse because the fans say so.

MDS

He is a problem in the clubhouse. He doesn't care about winning. Not to mention, he is barely hitting over .250 and can barely move out in LF. He is an albatross to this team.

I'd like an increase in OBP because he is being smart at the plate and not swinging at crappy pitches. So youre willing to take a higher OBP at the cost of him suckin ass with RISP?

Rhodes rips Lidle...New York Post

QuoteThat put a charge in Rhodes' blood.

"He is a scab," Rhodes said of Lidle, who according to Rhodes was a replacement player during the 1995 spring training lockout with the Brewers. "When he started, he would go 51/3 innings and (the bullpen) would have to win the game for him. The only thing Cory Lidle wants to do is fly around in his airplane and gamble.

"He doesn't have a work ethic. After every start, he didn't run or lift weights. He would sit in the clubhouse and eat ice cream."

Rhodes was aghast that Lidle would say the Phillies didn't expect to win.

"When he pitched, we busted our tails for him," the veteran reliever said. "He shouldn't say that, he shouldn't say anything like that because he is a scab. He crossed the line when guys like me, Flash (Tom Gordon) and (Mike) Lieberthal were playing. He is a replacement player."

Rhodes had a reason why Lidle went eight innings twice in a six-day period in July.

"The two games he went eight were against Atlanta, when they were struggling, and Arizona when they were struggling," Rhodes said of Lidle's outings on July 21 and July 27.

Damn, talk about going double barrel on someone. Arthur has been crap this year but I certainly like him taking Lidle to task on this.

PoopyfaceMcGee

He has a good point, though.  Lidle has mostly pitched like shtein his entire career anyway.

When will people figure out it's never a good idea to burn bridges when you leave an organization?

Just keep your fricken mouth shut, or better yet, lie your ass off.  Say you enjoyed your tenure and wish them nothing but the best.

How difficult is that?

PS: Love Rhodes's comments, but considering how lousy he's been, he's probably better off keeping his yap shut too.

You kidding?  He just saved his roster spot for next year.

Wingspan

Lidle was absolutley correct in his comments. just like wagner was...just like schilling was....just like rolen was.....and every other player that bashed the phillies after they left.

ice grillin you

just because a player bashes the phils AFTER he leaves doesnt mean what hes saying is right or doesnt mean that he wasnt part of the problem...in fact its more bitch to talk shtein after you leave than anything anyone on the team is doing right now

wagner i respect as he did it when he was on the team...but who the hell is corey lidle...hes a fat out of shape scrub number five pitcher and hes running his mouth like hes a cy young winner...maybe if your skank ass pitched better there would have been more wins...shut up

as for rollins hes one of the best shortstops in baseball batting in the wrong position...you cant just teach a guy to bat leadoff...flip a switch and hell be good in that spot...if it was that easy every team would have a great leadoff guy...jimmy should be hitting seventh and if he were everyone would see the great shortstop that he is
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous
